With the VSG you can eat more than we can with the RNY. You do not have malabsorption issues the same as us. One of my dearest friends is a bander, I preach to her about taking her supplements as she can not eat enough to get her daily allowance of vitamins and minerals.....

DS people have a higher mainentence to do than RNY or Restrictive surgeries.

What is your site address....I will check it out...but I don't "dump" on fats or sugar..the only thing I have a problem with is dry protein....it is like it gets stuck....and then I get the "foamies". I also had a Vitamin D deficiency and iron deficiency prior to my surgery and I still do....it is a little better but not cured.

I can't remember the size of my RNY...does it make a difference?....I am sure I can find out.
Hugs, Marti

That sure is a lot of work on your profile and tons of good information.

However .....I am still not sure what the size of my stoma has to do with the way my body uses calories.....I thought if you took in more calories than your body uses....you gain weight....if you take in less calories than your body uses..you lose weight....I know this is simplified, but I still don't understand why calorie usage is different for us. Marti
PS...I sure am glad I don't dump...sounds awful! M

Your stoma has nothing to do with it, your stoma is the opening at the bottom of your pouch that lets the food out...
