What's New? TGIF
Good afternoon Debbie and Friends!
Debbie, do you ever rest? George started on our master bathroom, but it's on hold until after this weekend. We need it functional since we'll have a full house. Basically we're stripping wall paper and rehanging paintable wall paper like we did in the guest bathroom a few years ago. It turned out really nice. We'll get new fixtures, shower curtain, and curtains. Way too much trouble to tear out vanity and tile.
Another 2 hours and I get to head for home. George is knocking off an hour early today. He says he'll sweep, mop, and clean bathrooms while I cook for our weekend guests. Daughter, SIL, and Gabe should be arriving around 8 tonight. I think he's crazy for wanting to mop before we have Gabe and Ethan for the weekend. Two little boys = messy floors that will have to be mopped again Sunday. I'd prefer a good sweeping. BUT hey if he want to help, I'm not going to discourage him.

Hi Debbie and everyone:
I am not handy around the house at all ... the best I can manage is hanging pictures and the occasional plunging of the toilet. Everything else, I have to call Larry the handyman. And since I still owe him money (is there anyone I don't owe?), I have put off calling him for things I need done.
I've had a lazy day ... about time! I'm really tired and wanted to take a nap this afternoon before work, but it didn't happen. After my shower, I went out to get the mail, and when I came back, I scratched my arm and there was this big bloody spot on it ... like a mole that got bloody. Don't know if a bug bit me or what. I've been watching it ... at one point, the blood branched off and got me worried that I might have a tick, but then it stopped. I used some vaseline (something you're supposed to do to get a tick out ... nothing happened with that). So far, the blood is all under the surface of the skin. Anyone ever have something like this? I have had a couple of these lately, not in the same spots. Not painful, just worrisome and annoying.
Didn't do much today, slept late, got up, watched my recording of the Olympics from last night (I am way behind!), cycled a bit (boy, that hurt ... not happy with how my knee feels!), did some weights as I watched Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte swim. I miss the water so much! Wish I could rejoin the Y.
I'm so glad it's the last day of work. We had a big announcement at work last night (or rather, during the day). One of our sister papers is closing its press and will have its papers printed at our facility; some of its staff in ad production will come over to our building. That means another round of buyouts. Doesn't affect my department, but with cuts in that area, can more buyouts/cutbacks be far behind? There's been talk about cutting out the Saturday paper. Wouldn't be good for Friday sports fans at all. Times are tough in the newspaper biz.
Well, I guess I've rambled on enough. Have a good day. See ya tomorrow or maybe later tonight.

Hi All,
I'm on my lunch half hour listening to 60's music and blogging. I'm excited because it looks like we have the inside track on a condo in the area for my daughter. It would be our condo, but she would pay rent to live there. It will be hers when when we die anyway. Things are crazy- we are also choosing cabinets and floors for the final part of the renovation of our house. I'm so excited that we could possibly move our daughter into her own place and make her room into my craft room as we finish up renovations! WOW!
