Hang on just a minute Maui Karen,    I'll be there in a nano second.  O' ,  Don't I wish.  Being out in Gods great open space, the wind and water rushing by, O'my.  That dream makes my heart sing.  I'm going to go "Swoooooosh " right now, Aaaaaaaaaaa, deep breaths are amazing.
We have been asked over to lunch by our neighbors, I made a fresh corn relish, yum.  Goin to go Party !!!!!!!!
Spred your wings a paddle just a tiny bit, you'll never go back to dog paddling when you can Kayak paddle. The joy of using your muscles to move You , is intoxicating.
If I could , I would come play in the Pacific with you .    I so enjoy the stories you tell us about your lovely island.  Later Lil' One, Peg in: Lovin Life Red

Aloha darlin Peg.....Oh, you do so make me want to try getting out on the water!! I was just out erranding, and there were several people out in small outrigger canoes.......the ones with one side balancer sidebar thingy. That seems like it would be pretty stable as opposed to the regular kayak which I imagine myself immediately turning upside down with me hanging underneath!! Someday, when we have an OFF get together on Maui (yes we will one day!), we WILL have to plan to rent canoes......I think it would be so much silly fun......and we do so love to laugh, don't we!

You always make me smile, dear one........how can I not with that knock out smile of yours, and that red, red, red lighting you up!

Sending you a bone rattling hug!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen (wearing red flowered top in your honor!)

Happy Friday Debbie and Friends!

It's a glorious morning here. Supposed to reach 102 by early afternoon so Maggie and I got out early. My car was in bad need of a good vacuuming and washing. Splurged and had it done as it was way too far gone for me to do it and way too hot already.

Just painted a piece of siding the shade of brown that I THINK I want for the shakes on the house. When it dries I'll take it up to the house and sit it outside and see what I think.  Then I have to pick an appropriate creamy beige to go with it. House will have white trim around the windows and trim of the house.  The wood floor is looking absolutely wonderful!

Still working on choosing mini pendants and light fixtures. Don't have to pick many as most of the lighting is recessed.

Would like to take in a movie, but see absolutely nothing of interest around here.

Had blood drawn this morning. Had a complete makeup done in March then babies, house etc intervened so just got around to my PCP last week. . . Wouldn't you know she wanted more CURRENT bloodwork. The nerve! However, she is so good at what she does that I accommodated her. She said my cholesterol was rising a bit. Hmmmm, could be the 10 lbs I've found since October? Should be an incentive to get it off as I do NOT want to go back on the medication!

Talked to daughter Erin last night. Both babies are now doing "belly laughs". She says it just cracks THEM (mom and dad) up to hear that deep laugh from those little girls. I get to go over and watch them the last week of August. I'm all ready to do it again!

Nothing else to report here. Just wanted to say hi.

Hi Karen,
I'm deciding on flooring too... was wondering what kind of floor you are putting in. I was considering engineered wood but the one I chose wasn't good enough for me, then I was considering bamboo but saw lots of bad results on the internet. Now I'm leaning toward solid white oak, which is more expensive but not out of reach. I'm still undecided....

My personal favorite for flooring is Brazillian Cherry...I think itis beautiful....Love, Marti

Our builder gets a "deal" on light oak, solid, prefinished hardwood. I think it's about $5.00 per whatever (not sure if it's running feet, square feet?) Anyway it looks beautiful and can be refinished down the road if need be because it is solid. He buys pallets at a time because he uses it a lot. Don't know what his "source" is.  I've seen some pretty good prices on the prefinished solid woods at places that we have here such as Costless Carpet. I think it's local but kind of like the "pack it yourself" grocery stores. Might be worth looking into. Bamboo is too "modern" for me. I like old fashioned furnishings and there is nothing more solid than oak. The prefinished has a lot of layers of "finish" on it and looks wonderful immediately. I like that instant gratification! Good luck. Today I was looking at fans and light fixtures. Oh, my, I have a hard time making decisions of any kind.

That sounds beautiful... I love Margo's idea of Brazilian Cherry but that is most likely out of my price range. I'm looking at unfinished white oak. It is solid and would be finished after installed.

Aloha Karen.......I got such a cute image in my mind when you talked about your babies belly laughing! I love it!! There is just nothing that sounds as beautiful as babies laughing from their centers....full out glee! You are so lucky to see them go through each stage.....I am envious, but so happy for you.

Please take pictures of your new home.......I'm not a very good "imaginer" and need pictures. The mental pictures I make are usually way off what something really is.

Enjoy babies, new house, new determination to get those last few pounds off......enjoy your life!!

With so much aloha,

Maui Karen
