Morning!!! What's happening Thursday??
on 8/13/08 10:15 pm - Park Forest, IL
Susan, it was interesting to read about the basal metabolic rate test. I need to work on building muscle too. I'm starting to get hangy skin. I've been working with the PT but can't seem to get motivated, they have been giving me ideas of things I can do to work with my back situation but I never seem to remember to do them. Have to figure out a plan and time to just get started!!
We're meeting Brenda for coffee this am. I can't wait. I so enjoyed my last visit with her. Hope you all have a great day. Well off to hit the shower...Hugs, Paulette
Wow not too many of us up yet I guess.
Susan, so glad to hear of your developments with your walk. What a load off of your back! Good job!
I am wondering about my caloric intake and all... I finally have stayed at 132 for a few days in a row. I had been yo yoing between that every now and then but mostly between 133-134...5 lbs from goal and I am walking on the treadmill every day often twice a day and am using weights also while I walk...walking pretty fast...we'll see if I have stopped this plateau of 4 months or so...
It is suppose to hit 100 today! My house will be an oven when I get home. We just have fans and a window air conditioner. I was a meal for the mosquitos last night and was miserable trying to sleep. This old house doesn't have screens on bedroom windows as we have the fans in them. Just hope we don't get West Nile Virus or something. I heard on the news that they just had a case 300 miles away. I think I will spray the bedroom tonight and try to kill some of those nasty things...
Not too much going on...love to hear all about you guys though.
Have a good Thursday!
Cheryl

Hello, Everyone! Happy Thursday! First, let me say “WELCOME” to all the newbies.
I must apologize for being MIA for such a long time. Once again, I haven’t had my act together lately --- exercise has been mostly missing and my food choices had gone down the tubes to the point where I was snacking on raw cookie dough between meals. Hard to believe, isn’t it? Don’t know why I got so out of control. Stress is part of it, but I think there’s more to it than that. Sometimes I think I WANT to sabotage my own success, but that doesn’t make any sense at all, does it? Add to all this, whenever I get off-track, I seem to isolate myself at the same time.
OK, enough is enough. This is a new day. I threw the cookie dough in the trash, cooked some chicken for dinner last night & made Janet’s “Move ‘Em Out Muffins” tonight. Luckily, my weight has stayed the same while I was making all these bad choices, so I feel like I dodged a bullet for sure.
Yesterday I had my 1 year checkup (ok, it’s been 13 months, so I’m a little late) & the Doc said I was doing just fine (naturally, he didn’t know about the cookie dough).
Everyone here has been so supportive & I'm not too proud to say I definitely need the support. Thank you for being here, my friends!
It seems that if we can get our minds back into a moving foward direction , use our tool as it was intended, we can make this work. Life does have a way of knocking us back from time to time.
We need to hold strong for the person that started this WLS Journey, ourselves. We are important, , we feel better. we can move without aid, dance again, sit down in a tub full of warm water, walk til the cows come home, enjoy life.
The picture you posted is wonderful. I think you look beautiful with your silver helo. Go get-um girl. Hugs dear sister, Peg -Up the Hill, Sitting on a Red pillow, getting ready for whatever this day might bring.

I often think of the wonderful visit You made for your Traveling Sister's, You are a very special Lady.
Paddle on dear sis, Peg
AND ALL OUR HERO'S
It's an inflatible. We picked it up on Craigs list. We drop it in the water at "Mommy's Beach" in Dana Point Harbor. So far, we're just paddling around, getting the feel of it. We haven't yet even done the whole harbor & it's a small harbour. My shoulders & arms are very weak & I'm having pain in my rotator cuff, funny thing - paddling doesn't seem to agrivate it, so I think slow & easy to build up strength is the way to go. Getting some muscle might even help it, I'm hoping. In any case it is fun for sure. Inflatible takes less room to store.
