ok last night after i got home from work i took my jeans off and went to put my nighgown on and noticed that the backs mainly just above my ankles have this red hot rash on them!!! i use to get them when i was 334 pounds but not since i lost the weight...i was told that it was from the blood vessels closing up and the blood couldn't get backup to the top again...putting any kind of creamon it doesn't help at all...in fact it sort of burns if i put some on...so my question is this...have any of you had this rash and what did you do to get rid of it? it takes awhile for it to go away onmy legs...it loks awful right now and its still hot to the touch....wearing short pants is now out of the question.

thanks so much for the info!!

hugs

Hi Judy....that sounds miserable. I guess I would use come kind of hydrocordizone cream and take some Benedryl. I really have no idea about why you are having this now.
What did you used to do for it??? Did your doctor give you something for it then??

Good luck...I hope someone else has a better answer for you.

Love ya sweetie.....hugs.....connie d

hi connie...yes i have tried creams on it but its like a burning sensation when i use them...i always just let it go...but i thought with this weight off i wouldn't have this problem again...sighs...maybe its because i am on my feet alot and working in the hot food court?? i hate this rash....might try some rubbing alcohol onit if i can find it here...can't hurt to try it i guess...

thanks for answering!!!

love and hugs back

*~**~*~*~**~***   Judy  Judy  Judy,   ( in my best Cary Grant voice )   Please  don't use alcohol.    I can only imagine the drying of the skin......  my first reaction is to put ice on it for swelling.  If it is the blood vessels have you thought of taking a blood thinning aspirin (or whatever it is we are suppose to take since surgery).  Also,  one thing I did when working retail and on my feet all day was to do stretching exercise before work.  I made sure my feet, ankles, knees and lower back were all loose and stretched out.  This helped with the pain as well as blood flow during my work.  When all else fails check with a doctor.  Good Luck    Millie

Oh Judy! I cringed when you said about putting the alchol on it too. I would think that it would irratate it more. I am with Millie and would put ice on it or at least some cold cloths. That I am sure would take the heat out of it. Maybe if you take the heat out of it you could tolerate the ointment more. I am not sure about the blood being blocked. I would go more toward a heat rash type of thing or something. You got that when you were heavy but now you are really active with the heat and that may be why it came back. This is just my opinion. I hope that you feel better soon.

Judy, when I got this my daughter made me go to the emergency room, and it was an infection! They wanted to admit me right then,,but instead they gave me high powered antibiotics. It still took about a week to get better. You might get that checked out.....

Be blessed!
