I feel like I'm failing
Hi All:
You have all been so welcoming, I would like to ask some advice and guidance if I may. I had my surgery on Dec. 13, 2007 and have lost approximately 75 lbs. I have 35 - 40 lbs to loose to get to my surgeon's goal for me and much more for my own goal. I have not lost ANYTHING is over two months if not longer. I do a work out at least three times a week, but I must admit I don't always make the best food choices and find I can eat almost anything and everything.
Has anyone else faced this monster? I feel like an food junky and cannot get "sober"!! I wonder if I have done damage to my pouch by perhaps stretching it out...two + months with no wieght loss seems like a very bad sign to me.
I would love all and any advice!!! Thank you again to all!!
Patty

Patty...this is the hard part of this surgery. They fixed the stomach but not our heads. We still have head hunger.
You need to get back to your doctors guidelines for eating. Too many carbs will lead you in the wrong direction. Make sure you are eating mainly protein. Some veggies and fruits are okay. Up your protein and see what happens.
Also...you could just be at a platueu and eventually you will start losing again. Change up your eating habits. Sometimes that will jump start the stall. Try to walk more too.
Are you getting in all your water??? That is another thing that can bring on a stall. How about the vitamins and calcium?? These are very important to the overall picture.
Good luck....hugs, connie d

Kathy S. just started back at it yesterday....she is a real inspiration....she is doing it on several Boards...and ours.....I have set my goals and I am working at it.....I was not 100% successful yesterday...but I was soooo much better than normal. I have already worked out for the day...on my weights at the Health club.....and I am thinking about what I eat and drink. Most of all I am drinking lots more water. My goal is 6 botttles a day, getting rid of bad carbs...those dreaded chips etc.and working out 6 out of 7 days.
Try it with us....I think it will get me going again. I have gained 7 pounds messing around....not good, got to catch it NOW.
Hugs, Marti

Patty,
I'm right there with you. I had my surgery in March and have lost 60# and a total of 70# overall. The past month has been difficult for me. I too can eat most anything and my stomach will digest it. I don't work out or walk like I did. Food choices are not the best either. I do well until the evening... then I want to snack-- snack --snack..... I gained 4 # this past week and I'm disgusted with myself which is like being on the diet treadmill again.... First off... let's not beat ourselves up..... and let's resolve to do better.. one day at a time. We know what we need to do...... it's the doing it... There, I feel better now.... lol I used your post to self talk to myself..... sigh.. Millie
PS.... Spokane is my origin.... live in Puyallup now...

You have no idea how much I appreciate hearing someone else is going thru this too!!! I share the same night time snacking thing as you do...it's a monster I tell you :) You are right there is no need to beat ourselves up, we know what we are doing incorrectly, now we must work on correcting our bad behaviors.
thank you for writing, the encouragement, and the pep talk.
