What's new, Monday?
on 8/10/08 11:20 pm - Park Forest, IL
I was called into work on Saturday, my day off, cuz 2 people called in sick (ya right, very common in the healthcare field).
Well, yesterday had late lunch with my son who will be moving next wk to Indiana University for Graduate school. Then he took me to see the movie "Dark Knight". He is a big batman fan and has seen this 4 times. Well, I'm still trying to absorb it all.
It is a very "dark" movie, excellent acting, lots of graphic violence, fast moving. I'd say it was good but there is so much packed into that movie that it still has me thinking about it. It is certainly not a movie for children. They made a big mistake making it PG-13. It most definitely a R-rated movie. The acting tho was very good...especially the Joker..Keith Leger. Very good special effects.
I'm off to work in an hour for a 15 hr day. Have to drive 2.5 hrs northeast of here to work then drive home after. I'm glad driving time is included in my hours as well as a company car.
Everyone have a great day.

I love Spring!!!!!!
Very busy weekend:
Sat. cleaned house in preparation for daughter, SIL, and Gabe's visit this coming weekend. Gee, they need to visit more often and my house would be in order! Sat. evening we went to Mass. Sun. George and I went fishing. Didn't get much, but enough for a few meals. I was thinking I should have stayed home and finished straightening up. Ah well, it was fun being out on the water. I hadn't been fishing since March, before my thumb surgery. At least we got home early (12:15) and I had time to do a few more things. No wonder I slept so good last night! I was worn out.
Back to the grind today.
Have a great day!
Debbie
It sounds like you are enjoying yourself with your granddaughter. Sorry the visit will be cut short. As close as I am to my grands they miss their moms too and are always glad to be home with them. We always have a great time but there is no place like home!!
I have a heavy work load the next three days. Then I will be off to be with my Nic at Childrens Hospital. Bless his heart! Not his favorite way to spend the remaining days of summer vacation. He starts school again next week.
I am soooo looking forward to my mini vacation to Alabama in September. WOW do I need some me time!!
Not much else happening here. Just work...UGH!! I guess I should be grateful to have a job huh!! For the most part I really love it. Just some weeks are harder then others. My mind is on Nic and not work this week!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!!
Ptrayers,love, and hugs to all.....connie d
Hi Brenda ....Nic has his testing this week. Hopefully that spot on his lung was just a cold and nothing more.
I am really struggling this week. I am soooo concerned about him. He hasn't been feeling like himself lately. Maybe he is just wearing out from all he has gone through this summer only now to have to go through it again!! Bless his heart!!
I will let everyone know as I hear more news. We probably won't know much right away. Some of those tests take awhile as there is more then one medical team going through the results.
Thank you so much for asking. I know you really care and are concerned also. It means alot to me!!
Love and hugs.....connie d
Good morning to all my OFF family. I hope that everyone is good. I have missed being here for the past couple of days.
I went on my big first camping experience this week end. I lived through it too! That is something in its self! I got to meet Pat since she drove down to the KOA and we got to visit. I just loved her. She is such a fantastic person. Just beautiful inside and out. I really enjoyed our meeting. Bill just kind of sat on the picnic table and watched and listened. He knew that this was MY week end. I got to meet Pat and so many people from the IN board. We had a wonderful time. I had terrible muscle spasms all day on Saturday and was just miserable but Ellen from the IN board showed me a lot of things I can do for my back and for the sciatica. She was a blessing to me this week end that's for sure.
Bill and I took the long way home yesterday. The trip there we took the toll road and so the view was pretty much non exsistant. We took 20 all the way home and had lunch in South Bend at a Texas Roadhouse. That sure was a neat place. We have a Texas Corral here but even though there are some similarities to them there is a lot of difference too. I got the Road Kill~and yes I had some problems saying that to the waitress. I had 1 teaspoon of the chili and ate a couple of mushrooms and that was it. I brought the Road Kill home with the sweet potato and I had it for dinner. At least the potato and about half of the road kill. It was a hamburger patty with onions and mushrooms (the best mushrooms I have ever ate in my life!) and jack cheese on top. I just finished the other half for breakfast. Then we got back on 20 and rode home. It took us about 4 hours to get home and that included the lunch time spent at the restaurant. We were so tired when we got home that we put the stuff away and flopped in bed. Nothing feels better than your own bed! We ended up napping for about 3 and a half hours. It felt so good. Then I just sat last night and watched television. We went to bed and Bill was watching something or other on the television and then he said he was going to sleep. He handed me the remote and I flipped through a couple of channels and then off it went and NaNa land is where I went!
I have to go to the doctor this afternoon. Nothing much but I do think I am getting a UTI. When I went to the urologist last week for my kidney check up he told me that the urine test looked kind of iffy. He told since I had no symptoms he wasn't going to do anything. Now I feel some of the burning. It kind of comes and goes. I have upped the water intake (oh dear God!) and it seems to help some. I figured since I was going to my pcp she could take care of it. She is more aware of what I can take and not with the size of meds.
Trudy, Bill's cousin goes with me and she sees her doctor too. So we always go together. We are going to go out for an early dinner after the doctor's appointment. We kind of look forward to this each month since that is the time that we kind of catch up on the stuff that we talk about during the inbetween time of the doctor's appointments. lol Can you tell that Trudy and I love to talk???
Nothing much is going on here other than the appointment and early dinner. I am resting up from my little restful week end. I sure moved my butt there. If only the muscle spasms would have left! I can't stand having back problems. When they flair up they ruin your whole day. And if they last only a day I am lucky!
I am sending everyone big hugs and lots of love. I am remembering everyone in my prayers and special ones for some. Remember to be happy where you are since that is where God wants you to be today.
