I have a garden question:  I have this giant catobe tree and there are about three babies and I want to dig one of the babies up and transplant it down at my house in the valley.  When would be  a good time to dig her up.

I would say after the most of the heat is over and a good month at least before it starts getting really cold...like in oct ...that way it has a chance to put out some roots and get established before the real cold and i would probably  protected it thru this winter with a good mulch around it. ...hope that helps....hey would love to have one of them...maybe the next time im over that way .  good luck on it. ....

I'll keep one grounded just for you.  I'm thinking that the catobe makes a lot of new babies with all the seeds and they grow really fast.  If you make it on a day when I'm not available, if you let me know in advance, I'll dig one up and put it on my porch and you can pick it up.  But, I should be home on weekends.
