We LOVE our PCP - X post
SOOO, my DH had his regular Dr appt today. His weight is 327 - down 12 pounds since he began researching this band. WooHoo!! Not spectacular, but for him, impressive! We are all very happy about that.ALSO, our PCP office CAN do the nuclear stress test right there! They have the newest equipment - that includes the chair you can sit in to have the test done, no need for him to lay flat (but even if they didn't the doc would have sedated him so he could lay flat and have the test). MORE, good news - they can do the test all in one day! They will do the first half in the AM, give him a big break and then do the 2nd half. Total time 5 hours. We won't have to drive all the way to Greenville TWICE to get this one thing done! HooRay!So he will have the stress test on August 26th. The report of everything should be at the Dept of Surgery in Greenville by Sept 1. Then we will have the decision appt with Dr. Pender, submit to ins and schedule surgery. Our PCP also suggested my DH ask Dr. Pender about removing the gall stone while he is in there! We celebrated by stopping at a new ice cream parlor I had heard about in Richlands. They have Hershey Ice Cream. Ever hear of it? 80 flavors - OMG so good. The first ice cream I have had since banding 10 months ago! We will be going there when our daughter and the kids are here! Thanks Nancy!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Nancy, this is such good news. Such a burden lifted when events are made easier. Hope your DH has his surgery sooner than anticipated too. Will the Dr be able to take the gall bladder out? I had mine done at that time..... twas easy. Ice Cream sounds soooo good. sigh, I haven't done well with ice cream.... Popsicles yes, ice cream no..... sigh... good luck Millie
Glad all worked out. When I had my stress test, I was lying down, but they did it with drugs so I didn't have to do the treadmill (I was in the 340-pound range ... maybe more, plus I had just had my right knee 'scoped for the second time and really couldn't walk/run for long ... told them if they could do it in a pool, I could do it). Didn't have to do a two-part test, though, just one part and it took about an hour or so.
I can handle a little ice cream, maybe a scoop, any more and I get sick. So I know my limits by now.
