Newbie Here - Am I Crazy???
Hey everyone!
Like Amy, I'm new too. My surgery is scheduled for Monday morning, 08/11. I am excited, nervous, all of the emotions, but basically ready to go. I'm 55 and looking forward to not having so many darned co-mobilities that I need so many medications. Plus, it will be great to just move around easier. I'm sure my breathing will be lots easier. The thoughts of being able to get down in the floor and play with the grandkids will be an extra bonus.
So, here I am. I'm like a sponge soaking up all the posts and info. I just hope that I can do this right and learn how I am supposed to eat after the surgery.

Hi Amy,
Today you must have met with your doc and now you have some dates perhaps? I had the surgery at 58, almost 59, and I am so thankful that I did it. I am 4.5 months out and I am only resentful about not having my occasional social dirty martini! My whole outlook on life has changed and I find I am really HAPPY. I combined weight loss surgery and retirement and I find that with the loss of weight and the loss of stress, life is wonderful. We're not so darned old, you know! 60 is supposed to be the new 40, and I know that I have a lot more living that I want to do! I'd love to find a partner to share my life, my active, excting life; but, if that doesn't happen it's okay. I have a whole new outlook. I don't think age is a concern -- go for it!
