What's New Tuesday?
I spent last weekend in Seattle and BC, and will spend next weekend in Orange County (CA). Those frequent flier miles will come in handy!
My hospital is preparing for a 2-day strike of the service workers, so I am busy, busy, busy obtaining and training the replacement workers so patient care can continue without a hitch. My youngest boy is preparing for his first year of college, and my oldest is on track to take about six years to graduate. (I think the young man is enjoying college life a bit more than I planned!)
Hope each of you has a wonderful Tuesday!
I had a long business day and came home and my husband was making some horrible concoction of shrimp, capers, tomatoes..filled with garlic and pasta....and I took a pass ...ended up having a bowl of cereal...later I had a big glass of wine and went to bed....so I am up early again.
But I have been on line trying to organize a trip to Florida in October with all the Ladies in my Mother's family for her 93rd Birthday in October. With her granddaughters [6] and DIL [2] and myself, it is going to take a bit of orgainzing, but will be great fun. We did it last year and had a ball. We decided to stay on the beach this year, so we are looking for a good place. She lives in Delray Beach on the East coast, just below Palm Beach.
She lives at a Retirement Community which she loves and we are glad. She has her own apartment, but they take good care of her there. She only goes down for one meal a day....she never did do mornings very well.[ if you are interested in someplace nice down there it is a great place. http://abbeydelray.com/ ]
I think Mike and I are going to go down to Dallas early and we will leave Mike there to help out Kyle over the weekend with the two babies [6 months and 18 months] and then stay for a few days afterward. Hopefully I will get to see my favorite red head in Dallas at least for lunch....okay Janet?
Well, I think I have been sitting on my cracked tailbone enough for the night...so I am going back to bed.
Hope you are doing well and have a wonderful day.
Love, Marti

When my youngest started college, so did I. My (then) brand new hubby used to chuckle that he got married and was supporting 3 'girls' in college.
So many of you have commented about high temperatures and feeling the effects of the heat. Sigh. It is 60 degrees here and we will be lucky to get into the mid 70's again. I am freezing.
Last night's support group turned into a lively gab session after the regular meeting. There has developed a strong bond amongst the people and a more regular attendance.
This is a big change from when I first went to meetings 2 years ago. Back then, people attended the required two meetings, had surgery and never returned. I am pleased to be involved with the support groups. It takes a good deal of my time but the rewards are tremendous.

It does make it easier to have the same person leading the groups every week. We used to wonder if another person would come in or if we were on our own.
My job is to facilitate, not stand up and lecture. They would be polite, listen, but never return. I try to make certain that all questions get answered and most importantly ASKED.
They keep me on my toes too. If I don't follow the rules, how can they be expected to do the same. This is the highlight of each week for me.
Thanks again

It is all the way up to 70 degrees finally. A warm pair of socks, a sweater and jeans will be perfect today.
We have some people driving 25 + miles to come to the groups. There are several in the area but they like ours because most of us had the same surgeon.
The main interest is bariatric surgery and that is a common bond.
Have you posted on the board or looked uo the OH listing for support groups? That might help you find one.
Take care
Annette
