I am new to this site and want to say Hi to all!

Welcome to OFF. It's a great group. We're having a get-together in October in Frankenmuth, MI ... maybe you could come. We have a lot of fun ... had one in October last year in Dallas and it was a blast!
I had my surgery in June 2004 and have lost 180 and have kept it off so far. I'm down from 347 pounds to 170, more or less (keep bouncing up and down from there). It's a fantastic journey, isn't it? And no major complications, other than some anemia two years out that had to be solved with extra iron. I was very fortunate to find a great practice here in Grand Rapids MI called MMPC that doesn't just cut you open and leave after surgery, but provides great after-care.
If you need help with your picture, contact Joyce Stewart or Jan Smith, they know how to do these things. But I haven't seen Jan on the boards much lately.
This is my support group here because I work nights and all the support groups are at night, so I get my support online.

I am Carla and I am in the Central Florida area. Bradenton Sarasota to be exact. I had my surgery in february of 02 and I have lost 150 pounds. I to have had some complications but they were due to having diabetes at the time of the surgery. I am fine now.
I moved down to Florida cause I couldnt take the cold in Colorado anymore. I was living in Colorado and Illinois up untill a year ago. I visit Illinois and Colorado when I can.
Feel free to jump in anytime we would love to hear you expertise.

Hi Carla: My dad lives in Ocala Fla and is hoping to move to NC to live with my brother and sister in law. He is 84 and won't come to PA because of the cold. I lived in Wyoming and I know cold. But, the Lord has us here in PA at least for the moment. I am glad the complications have resolved for you. I am praying that there is a solution but, as I told one of the other folks I am willing to accept all of this and get on with it. Enjoy the sunshine and warmth and I hope to be talking with you again soon. Expertise....I'm not sure about that but, I will share whatever info I can with you guys... have a great day.... Patricia

Nice to finally see you hear. I have my 6 month appointment with "Mike" on Wednesday at St.Clair. If you are going to Philly in October we need to talk. "Lora13"and I had talked about going so maybe we can make it threesome weekend. We'll talk.
I'm glad to hear you're feeling good. Don't be using those 40pto hours soon.

Welcome to the OFF Family of OH, and that's very much a description of the people here! Wonderful, caring and very supportive and I love Mary and Lora, as I met them at a get together they put together in April, both wonderful gals.
I, too, hang out on the PA board, as my home board is not very active, and technically I am a suburb of Philadelphia and also had my surgery at Barix in Langhorne, where many of the folks on the PA board also went. Also 53 years young ;)
Anyway, life post-surgery has been wonderful for me and I am living, enjoying and sharing so much with the folks on this board, so glad to have you join us and looking forward to learning more, sounds like you are living the life too, and helping others is a great thing, something I hope to do at some time in the future.
