Hi Paulette,

The hoops we jump through make us stronger I think.  Pat's right -- It took me one year.  Hang tough.  If you want this badly enough...... at least that's what I kept telling myself.

I suggest calling about cancellations on a regular basis.  That way you will feel you are doing something proactive for your own cause.  I would think sometimes Sleep Studies could get cancelled.....

For the Psychologist -- get on that list and start calling them and asking if they do clearance for WLS patients.  Don't know what a minion test is but mine was one set of 150 questions and another set of 200 questions.  I think the appointment was about 2 hours.  No biggie.

Hang in there.  I just know we can't buy patience because I looked in every story while I was waiting!

Hugs to you,

Kathi

Hi Kathy, Thanks for your advice.

I did have them put me on the wait list in case there are any cancellations. So I am stopping caffeine today, which I needed to do anyway. and told DH we need to stay close to home in case I get a last minute call. I did explain to the nurse about trying to get wls and she seemed interested in that and said that sometimes they get last minute cancellations but since I live nearbu she would put that info by my name.

Monday when i call the pulmonologist I am going to insist they get me in as close to the 9/29 date as they can, I know they have to wait for the results but how long does that take?  The other thing I don't understand is my husband had sleep apnea and surgery for that but he never had to go to a pulmonologist just an ENT. So that will be my next questions when I call the doc on Monday..BTW I see my pcp on Tuesday so I will be loaded for bear when  I see him, I have all my notes and info lined up so I can get some answers from him. He really is a great doc and usually makes things happen for me. It's just hard to get throught he gatekeepers to get to him but since I have an appt he will be a captive audience LOL!!

In the meantime I have lost 45 pounds and plan to continue working my plan and hope to keep losing, so maybe all this will be a moot point anyway, who knows?

Thank you for your support, hugs, paulette

Dam girl!!!! Are there other places to get these test that may have earlier appointments?? The place where go to, the clinic, do they have support meetings where you could meet others and learn how they did it??
Does your state have a forum on here?? Maybe you can get some local feed back. You poor baby, I hope things pan out for you, please keep us posted.

Thanks Linda,  yes, it has become one thing after another, but I just keeping looking at everyone's before and after pictures and know that it will be worth it in the end. My clinic(wellgroup) usually requires 1 year of med supv diet before they'lll even refer you to a surgeon. But my orthorpedic doc got them to change it to the ins. requirements(6 mos)  for me because of my back fracture.I have this stupid BCBSIL POS plan that works like an HMO requiring referrals for everything and my clinic won't refer outside if they have that service in one of  their sites.  Tues I see my pcp and he usually is very helpful to me so I'll have his undivided attention and loaded to the gills for him with questions and info to see if he can speed things up.

I also am struggling getting the cals in again, so I haven't been posting my food plan, since I'm not even sticking to it. I did get the required things in yesterday though.
Old Paulette + stress= overeating
New Paulette+ stress= not eating.
It is so bizarre....before I started this plan I could eat 3000 cals a day & still be looking for food. Now I have no hunger, no desire to eat and struggle to get 500-700 cals in, let alone 1000.  But I know that in order to lose I need the 1000 cals.  the head stuff is crazy!!

It is a fact that anorexia, bullemia, and over eating are all the same disease!! I am not surprised you are under eating, we have an unhealthy relationship with food, period.
You sound strong, but could be sabatoging yourself, because the disease is tied to control issues,as well as much more.
Keep hanging in there, and you should be proud of yourself for being able to define your feelings, and recognizing the head trip.
You may want to post your food anyway, you do not have to be perfect.Later, you can look back and see what you were feeling, and doing, and how far you have come!
Take care!

Hi Linda, you are so right on the head!!  My daughter told me today not to substitute not eating for overeating!  She told me she noticed I stop eating before I've finished my measured portions, so even if I am writing down the quantity and what I am eating, if I don;t fini**** I'm not getting the calories and nutrition in. Does it ever get easier?!! sheesh!!  Thanks  Hugs, Paulette

Hi Paulette...I too agree those hoops can be a real pain to jump through all the time. I am also a firm believer that all things happen for a reason. The right time will come. Some of us had more hoops and hills then others. Hang in there!!

Hugs....connie d
