it's Saturday-what's new?
BLT Dip
This wonderful layered dip is as good and easy as it sounds.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Hickory Smoked Bacon cooked crisp and crumbled
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
Iceberg lettuce shredded
2 large vine-ripe tomatoes diced
Sea salt bagel chips
Steps
Combine the mayonnaise and sour cream in a small bowl with a snap-on lid. When well mixed refrigerate until serving time. When ready to serve combine ingredients in a large serving bowl by placing one layer of the mayonnaise mixture then a layer of lettuce tomatoes and bacon. Repeat layering as desired. Serve with bagel chips.

I am back from the pool partay ...good time very tired, but had to check in....and I had to check out my recorded QVC....didn't buy anything...but I am getting real tempted by the B.Makowsky hand bag....I have a bunch of Kathy Von Zeeland bags and they work together......I need a smaller hand bag.
You are lucky to not be tempted today...I could certainly g et along without anything I bought. Love, Marti

Today we are heading over to DD's house to help her with some things, will probably be there all day and go for a dip in her pool this afternoon.
Since my trip last weekend I've been feeling run down & tired, my emotions have been all over the place, am having trouble with my food again. Not in eating too much or the wrong foods but in getting enough foods in. I've been very low on my calories which is probably why I feel run down. If anyone told me that I would feel full all the time on 500 calories I would've told them it's impossible....before starting this journey I was hungry all the time and probably consuming 3000 calories per day, now I struggle to get the 1000 calories in one day. It's jsut another sign how mixed up our heads are when it comes to food, weight etc. My bp is very low again, probably due to low calories and nutrition? maybe not enough water in too. Old Paulette+ stress = overeating New Paulette + stress = not eating. go figure!!
BUT...today is a new day and I am telling all of you this so I will be accountable to working my program the way that I know it works for me. 64oz water, 1000 calories per day, 100 healthy carbs per day and 70 gr protein per day. I have to get this under control so when I do have the wls I will be able to adhere to the doc's plan right??
Thank you all for your support. I really do appreciate it. {{Hugs}}, Paulette

I did get the 1000 cals in yesterday. Made stuffed green pepper (from our garden) casserole yesterday with Gr. Turkey. Kept the brown rice separate but did have 1/3cup to increase my cal & carbs yesterday. I still was short by 8pm so I had an Advantage Protein drink and made it to 1004 cals & 101 carbs. LOL ! Luv ya too! Paulette
I'm glad you slept at your house last night, Margo. That's progress. Here's hoping for some steady times for you.
Busy day yesterday. Full day at work and then went shopping. Hubby got a new rocking chair to sit in. Since he spends all day and half the night in it, it was time. That will be delivered on Wednesday. I also needed ....... drumroll please...... new pants! Got 'em. I came home and packed up half my closet filled with clothes too big for me. (hooray!) Now, I don't quite have the nerve to take those clothes out of the house but I'm working on that.
Marti - I LOVE QVC and have it on, too. Haven't bought anything. I shopped last weekend and my new purse came yesterday. It was from the fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer.
Today I have my first appointment with the nutritionist. I've waited to do grocery shopping until after I meet with her.
Have a great Saturday. Enjoy the activities - whatever you are doing!
Hugs,
Kathi
We slept in today. We wanted to be on the road by now and here I am sitting in my jammies. We are going to Spencer, Ne ( 2 1/2 hrs away) one of my great nieces has several exhibits in their county fair and 6 of them made state. She did one on genealogy and I helped here a little with that giving her info and that is one of the displays going. Plus they will be in the parade tonight and we have to stay and see that. We decided to spend the night rather then driving home late on a two lane hwy. The motel there is $45.00 a night so that was not to pricey.
I was so excited last night I am into genealogy and for years been searching for a connection to one of my lines and got an email from someone in that line, he had a wealth of info that he sent to me. My 2 year old granddaughter was here last night so I had to wait till late last night to read up on all the info that he sent me. Maybe that explains why I slept in.
My goal for today is to stay hyrdated it will be around 100 out and to stay away from funnel cakes.
Have a great day everyone.
PS............I used to hear that I would feel better after I lost some weight.......and you know what I do feel better and I feel like I have a ton (excuse the pun) of energy.
Good Morning Everyone!
We got home from Chehalis on Thursday night and haven't stopped since then. Texturing is completed on the house, garage doors installed, interior painting starts on Monday. So it's crunch time for Karen as far as interior colors. You decorators and realtors out there help me out. The builder likes to use Kilim Beige (Sherwin and Williams paint) for large interior spaces like great room, bonus room, kitchen, dining areas. I'm going to try it out in all areas first before giving my ok. We picked out a beautiful color called Ancient Marble for the master bedroom suite. It's kind of a soft sagey green color. Love it. Ceilings in all bedrooms will be off white so walls can be changed when we get tired of them. Hopefully not for a few years. Bathrooms will be off white. I like white bathrooms for some reason. Towels and rugs bring plenty of color. Trying to decide of that Kilim Beige in most of the house will be too much. Suggestions anyone? I just don't want everything to look too blah.
Cabinets are in town. Next week when painting is done a couple of cabinets will be brought to the house with flooring samples so that we can decide that and countertop colors.
Oh, and did I forget to mention that Hannah and Clara smile and coo and giggle???? At age 4 months they have us totally under their little pinkies. In the daytime they nap downstairs in what used to be the dining room. Now a baby room! One of them will let out a scream like they are dying. . . You walk over, lean over the pack n play, and get an immediate grin! No tears, no real emergency, just a grin and a wiggle of all 4 appendages as if to say "I'm here, pick me up, how can you resist?" And. . . .we usually can't!
It's 8:30am and I'm trying to catch up on laundry with this "doll size" washer and dryer. I am thankful that the apartment has anything, but geeze. It takes forever to do what I used to do in 2 loads!
Gotta get a shower and get to the paint store for samples. Have a nice weekend wherever you are. Hopefully we'll be home for a few weeks and get caught up on things. Take care.
