What's New FRIDAY August 1,2008?
In between dentist visits I've been working on the bathroom. I am about ready to do some flooring. I doubt it will happen much before next week at this rate. So anyway, What's New with YOU?

I FEEL for ya, girl friend! Ive had six root canals thaks to a stupid truck driver who dropped his cellphone and looked down to the floor to retrieve it and rammed us from behind at 60 MPH! I was lucky..my regular dentist sent me to a root canal specialist (must be some kinda sadist, huh?) and he knocked me out completely..I woke up, asked him when he was going to start and he said "it's all done!"...JB took me home and I slept for 22 hours straight!
Well, this time Im really heading to bed now! *hugs*

I'm home from Lake Tahoe- it was fun, relaxing, AND I lost another three pounds. I paid my dues at the casino... I just decide how much I am going to lose before I start. That way I don't feel so bad when the money is gone. Today we went shopping for flooring materials. When we bought our house 18 years ago I had to have new carpeting and I chose a biege color. It is thrashed now, so we are replacing it with wood. This will be a big job- mainly because every room will have to be packed and then put back together after the floor is in. I'm excited- so excited- because we are getting so much done this year. My husband and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in October and I'd love to have everything done so that we can have a big party here. I think we are going to be done! I start back to work on Monday. I'm hoping that the busy days will help me to keep losing more weight. I really want to get to one-derland!

so the bird lady sent a payment via paypal--i didn't know she was going to so she sent it to an email that didn't already have an acct set up-geez- so ok i set up the needed acct-but the payment won't clear til NEXT wednesday-i am getting very very friggin mad----by then she should be sending almost $200 more---at this rate it will be 2012 before he gets paid for....and if you figure it out the way she said from the beginning--by next wednesday she should have actually paid $600 (of the 1000) for him.....ah...well- ok---it is what it is.....hmmmmm that didn't make me much happier .......i'll try to keep that mantra up all day....
i have never had root canal work done-knock on wood--so i cannot commiserate , debbie...hang in.....here's a hug...
cleaning the 3rd bedroom still this weekend and not sure what else-oh! today is payday and i have a grocery list!!!!
hope everyone is ok and sending hugs and prayers....

Nothing much going on today. I've been sleeping full through the night the last two nights. Very strange for me. Guess working hard at work each day may contribute.
Got a new cable box yesterday. Our DVR was not working properly and now the cable company has DVR boxes HD capable. Nice to see clearer television pictures.
I ate ground beef for the first time since surgery last night. I didn't really care for it and that's a definite change from pre-surgery. I think I'll stick with my fish and tuna and cottage cheese. My scale says I'm down a pound this morning so I'll take that.
That's about as exciting as life is for this Friday for me.

morning debbie....teeheeeheeeee 2 whats new threads...lol ok sorry just had to chuckle here... sorry for that root canal pain!!! i had one a few years ago on my tooth next to the front one and this dr???? that did it didn't even let it numb enough!!! i felt every push/pull that he did!!! i should have grabbed his balls and crushed them!!!! (sorry but it was painful to me!!!) i told him i wasn't numb enough and he said oh yes i was...like hell i was!!!!! gezzzz hope i never have to go through that again!!!
millie i know what you meanon the snacking...i do it myself!!! i have a bottomless pit anymore it seems and i am scared i will get fat again!!! soooooooo i am going to get some mini carrots and some celery and some ff dip and then thats my snack!!! no more candy or junk food in this place!!!!
julia i would love to have wood floors!!! after having carpet ruined by the dog i am ready for wood flooring!!! (not bandit but spike did the damage...he refused to be housetrained!!!) also happy 25th anniversary!!!!!
margo what type of bird is this that you are selling for $1,000.00? does it talk and do tricks?? rick has a green parrot about the size of a robin maybe a touch bigger and also a ****atiel. goose isthe parrot and i can't get him to talk at all but bandit taught him to whine and bark...lol have you called the dr and tell him that ambien isn't working for michael? might beed an adjustment???
kathi woohooo on the weight loss!!!! as for the ground beef...there are some foods i can't eat because it tastes nasty since wls....so i know where you are coming from...

I'm up, got a cup of coffee in me, dry mopped the kitchen floor, fed the kitties, and am ready for my weekend bash! At least, as much bash as a bunch of 58 year-olds can muster up...
It's funny. I've been all excited (literally) about seeing people I haven't seen for so many years, and can't wait to see how surprised they are at the "new" me. But it was brought to my attention last night that what I think of as the "new" me is really the "old" me, as many of them haven't seen me since before I was so obese and gray-haired. So, for me, the reality might not be as exciting as I had figured on. One of the girls on the committee said that no one will have any problem recognizing me, as I look almost the way I did in high school. That surprised me. For so many years I've looked in the mirror (infrequently) and seen someone so different from how I look now, that I though everyone else would have the same reaction.
Stuff to ponder, I guess. I did show a few people the "Pittsburgh" dress, and they said it was fantastic and perfect for the reunion. I'm looking forward to dressing up for a change, but I'm glad I found a warm wrap, because the air conditioning is gonna freeze me solid otherwise, being that the dress is a halter-type, and there's a lot of exposed skin going on.
I have mixed feelings about the whole weekend, but plan on having a good time, renewing some old acquaintances, and kicking back for a change. It was good for me to be on the reunion committee, despite some of the personality differences, as it involved me so much more than it would have otherwise.
All in all, I'm ready to rock and roll!
(Does that date me, I wonder......?)
