Our posture
I have always been a person who stood up straight, held my head up and walked like I owned the very ground I was standing on.... well, I thought my posture was like that. I have seen a number of "before and after" pics and if there is one continuing thing that I noticed (aside from the obvious weight loss) is the posture of the individual, myself included. I pulled out some old photos of myself (60 pounds ago) and much to my surprise I did NOT stand quite as straight and proud as I thought I did. It was as if there was this invisible brick on my back, tilting me forward a bit, slouching my shoulders and, in general, making me look like a sadly beaten woman. Upon a closer look I saw that there was no sparkle in my eyes, no truly sincere smile on my face and no glow of happiness about me. How very sad that for so long I was fooling myself to believe that I was projecting myself as proud when in fact I wasn’t even standing up straight. But those days are gone! By posture is straight as a board, my smile comes from the heart and will honestly light up a room and my husband says I glow like a flood light! Life is so good.
