Hi Brenda & My OFF Family!

As usual, the weekend was busy and so I haven't been online with all of you, it's been nice catching up, reading your various posts, I so wish I would be meeting up with the sisters, but alas, I have to go to work and that takes precedent over fun sometimes.
I have some trips coming up in the next few weeks, one to an unknown destination, Tony is taking me and said he wants to surprise me, even teased me about making me wear a blindfold the whole time until we get there, well we shall just see about that ;)  The weekend following I am driving up to Vermont with 2 of my AA sisters and we are stopping in my old neighborhood where I am picking up my "sister from another mother", Jeanne, who will be going with us, we are going to a recovery Campout, one that I used to attend every year for a good 5 or 6 years, until I got married to my 2nd husband and then moved to SNJ, so I stopped going, one of my old friends had sent me the flyer and said, hey it would be nice if you could make it this year, so I asked some friends, as it's probably a 6 hour drive from SNJ and one I just didn't want to make alone, well they all agreed and we are going, that's in 3 weeks and it's been some time since I went camping, so it will be lots of fun and it will also be a very cheap weekend as well.

On Saturday I got a phone call from my son in Germany, seems my DIL and grands are coming home for a month, she is making the trip alone with the grands and he will fly home at the end of the month for a week or ten days, they will be arriving in less than 2 weeks, it will be nice to have them close by and before too long home for good!

Well, I guess that's enough from me.

Hope you all have a blessed day.

Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

Laureen, you must be one of the most busiest sister. lol You are on the go all of the time and sometimes I get tired just reading about you and your comings and goings. lol

It is a blessing that your family is coming to visit. It will be nice when they are home for good and you won't have to be so far away from them.

I have never been a camper. The IN board is having a camping week end starting a week from Friday. Floyd and Brenda are going to be there and so Pat R. is coming in too. She only lives 20 minutes from Middlebury. I would have never dreamed that since in my mind when you live in another state you couldn't possibly be that close! lol Bill wanted to go so we are renting a cabin for a night. That is the closest to camping you are going to get my fanny to. lol My idea of roughing it is a nice hotel room with air and cable t.v. lol

Have a wonderful day in everything that you do.

Good Afternoon Everyone.....

I am still in Iowa. My car door, drivers side ,decided it didn't want to open from the outside anymore. My SIL can fix it but not until after he gets off work tonight.
I went with Nic to the hospital this morning to get his counts checked. They are low so he has to be very careful to not be around anyone sick.
I will be home tomorrow...hope to catch up with everyone on Wednesday.
Prayers to those in need.

Love and hugs, connie d

Hi Connie, I hope that your day is getting better. Cars can be pains in the behinds can't they? You never know what is going to happen to them. The good news is that your SIL can fix it because with the cost of everything going up and up some more heaven only knows what it would cost. That is how I feel with my nephew. He is a mechanic and can fix just about anything. I don't know what we would do without him. One time Bill said that he wished he took auto mechanics in school instead of auto body. I told him, while I was laughing hysterically mind you, that high school was so long ago that now he still couldn't fix the cars. He kind of shrugged his shoulders and agreed with it. They way they have new fangled things I don't understand why they can't just leave things well enough alone. lol

Nic is still in my special prayers. Please continue to keep us posted on how he is doing. He is such a trooper.

Hi Y'all....sounds like all of you are up to something...I sure like to catch up with your lives....

I had a busy weekend, the wedding....was nice, but I during the dinner I got up to go to the bathroom and I had to walk up a little incline and this big man turned and bumped into me...and down I went on my butt.....my bony butt I might add....soooo once again I have a cracked tailbone and it is soooo sore. I don't even think he knew he did it.

The bad thing was that it was an old theater and there were rows of old seats and I went down between a row of seats.....two of my friends husbands had to help extricate me from the floor.....Mike had gone home to babysit for Kathleen and my friends wanted me to stay on with them, so they brought me home. My girlfriend told me that she was sure I probably broke my hip because I really went flying....I had on high heels and with the incline I was a little off balance... anyway I am sure if I didn't work out at the club, I would have done a lot more damage....but it will be painful to show houses tonight.

I am going to take a Vicodin and take a nap before I pick my people up. Take care...
Hugs, Marti

Ouch ... you be careful, Marti. That's one of the many reasons I don't wear heels ... at my high school graduation, I wore clogs (they were popular back then). We had our caps and gowns on, and had to come to the front of the stage and make a little curtsy to the nuns and our parents after receiving our diploma. Well, my gown caught on the heel of my clogs and I almost ... almost did a header into the orchestra pit. See, I'm really clumsy ... that's how I hurt my right knee twice and my left knee once (not to mention varoius falls to hurt ankles, feet, etc.)

So rest up, Marti. I know how it can hurt.

Please be careful, Marti. I know just how bad your back feels. About 32 years ago I fell on blac**** and broke my tailbone. That is what is the cause of all my back problems today. It has caused the arthritis, the sciatica, the degenerative disc disease, the muscle spasms (which are killers theirselves) and the 2 herniated discs. There is nothing they can do for my back anymore so I have to take care of the pain taking narcotics. I don't take them unless I have to. I hate to take them. Please be careful and maybe heels aren't good ideas anymore. At least maybe until you take some time and heal from the falls.
