I had to laugh when you said that you were going to spend the day picking up from the week end. We don't even have kids here and I am going to be doing the same thing. lol We started doing some deep cleaning on Sauturday and was going to work on it Sunday and needless to say that went by the wayside. lol Gotta get back to it today!

Good morning again to my wonderful OFF family. Having fun yet? So far nothing great for me. lol

I am sitting here just turning into a vegatable. lol I just didn't sleep well. I finally dropped off to sleep about 3 this morning but was up and going early this morning again. For some reason I just couldn't get my mind to shut off. I would think that it might have been Starbucks but that was suppose to be decaf so I don't know why that would do it. Maybe it is just me and every once in a while my mind likes to work. Oh if that is what it is like to have your mind work then I don't want any part of it. After all it has been 54 years and it hasn't worked so why start now? lol

I am staying home today and doing some of the stuff around here that I was going to do yesterday. I ended up not doing any of the stuff that I was going to. We ended up going to our nephews house for a cook out and that was fun. Then I got home and within a couple of minutes I was on the road and going to Starbucks. Not overly busy but very emotional, I guess.

It is hot and humid here so the air is staying on today. lol I just can't take the humidity~to me that is a killer.

I better get going. This isn't getting any of the stuff done~or at least started. I don't guarentee that it is going to get done. I am not that dedicated.

I am sending love and hugs to all with lots of prayers for everyone. Special ones are being said for those in need of them. Have a wonderful day all!!

Aloha Brenda and OFF sisters......

It's 5:00 a.m. and I'm all showered, powdered, primped (wearing white knee high shorts and a pale green/white sleeveless top) and ready to go to the hospital to test newborns BEFORE I go to my other job at the agency. I'm filling in for a screener this morning, and I'm hoping there are NOT too many babies. I had only four on Saturday which made it nice. I love taking the little ones into my office and being alone with them for a few minutes. If they get fussy, I get to pick them up and do my "tutu thing" and they quiet right down. I've had practice, thankfully, with my own mo'opuna (grandbabies) recently that comes in handy.

Peaceful is the word I would use to describe how it is right now. I have all windows/doors open at 5:00 a.m. and it is perfectly comfortable. It's pitch black outside but I can hear the ocean lapping against the seawall, and can only sense the breeze moving the big palm fronds gently outside my lanai door. I have been up since 3:00 and seem to waken very early naturally so don't need an alarm clock.

The weekend was short having worked on Saturday, and yesterday I needed to do a Costco run so that cut that day in half. I made the mistake of eating a nonfat frozen yogurt at Costco, and then couldn't wait to get home to throw it all up! I think I ate too much of it, or too fast, because I've had it before and didn't have that reaction. I laid down on the bed for a half hour and then felt fine. Funny how our little pouches can rebel even after two years. Actually that makes me grateful because I know it's still there doing it's job...and it's ME who forgets to honor the little tummy.

Well, happy Monday everyone....and I hope your week is wonderful now matter how it develops. My week is starting great having given myself time to come in here and be with you all for a little while. Now it's off to the hospital.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Well, big Sis, I read your post and felt the peace and quiet that you so vividly talked about. Yes, I said talk since that is what I feel that we all do. We are all in one room and sitting with a cuppa whatever and just chatting and laughing with one another. I find such peace and tranquility when you chat with us. Have the wonderful day that you so richly deserve. Love and big hugs to you.

Hello our lovely sister in red. You make so many happy when you pop in with your funny things and cheer that you spread. Thanks for being our cheerful sister in red~you are a blessing to our little family.

Last night at Starbucks Carla but my hair. She didn't like the way that it was cut and so she fixed it. She told me that she would cut it again the end of September. lol I told her that it was fun having a cut and a cuppa! That was my first trip to Starbucks. Sorry sisters but I don't see anything that great about it. lol I know there are faces with :-( on them. lol

Hi Brenda and everyone:

Well, Carla and Paulette left about 9:30 this morning. I took a long shower, washed my hair, went to the chiropractor, got adjusted (he said my hips were out of whack this morning something bad ... I figured something was because I had a pain in my butt ... could it be work?) Anyway, then I took the screws back to Lowe's, got my $2.08 back, went to the podiatrist's office and got some pads for my little toe that rubs and is ouchy, came home and starting picking up from last night (you know, deflating the aerobed, doing laundry ... sheets and towels).

It was so much fun seeing Carla again and meeting Paulette. It seems everytime I meet a new OFF sister or brother, it's like I've known them forever. We click immediately. I have such a big new family, all because my psychologist suggested to me three years ago that the way to curb my emotional eating was to find new friends. And here they were. I love all you guys so much. If I could give you a group hug, I would ... so here's a cyberhug. You are my rock, my strength, in so many ways.

Our visit was so short, though. Carla and Paulette didn't roll into the Briesch Bed and Breakfast into almost 1 ... we stayed up chatting til about 2 and then Carla starting getting sleepy. So everyone went to bed, but I couldn't sleep because my knee and back were bothering me. Got up at 2:30 and took a vicodin and read for awhile and finally nodded off at 3 or so. Got up at 8 and made coffee and gave out blueberry muffins that I made yesterday ... plus I made chocolate zucchini bread, which I meant to give to Paulette and Carla but forgot. Oh well, I'll have to bring some into work and ceramics.

I am so tired today I hope I can get in a nap before work. I'm drinking some coffee now ... hoping that caffeine will kick in. Brenda, I hope you can get to Frankenmuth with us. It'll be so much fun.

Well, I want to read some more of the posts. Got to keep deflating the aerobed and put the laundry in the dryer. Have a good day.

Eileen, I could just kick myself in my bottom for not taking my camera with me when we met. I have to remember to take it when we get together again. I am looking forward to seeing you again. I am sending big old hugs back to you. Have a wonderful day and when things aren't going so good just think of all of us cheering you on.

Hi Eileen,  Time went by so fast when we were by you.  Could you post or did you post the recipe for the Blueberry Muffins? They were yummy.  I should have helped you get the aero bed deflated but the time just flew and in the rush of things I forgot. I'm sorry if we left you a mess. Well I'm going to bed, I've been there twice so far already but my legs won't settle down, I feel like I'm still in the car.  Just took a pill so that should help. Anyway, Thank you again, good night and hugs, Paulette
