wanted to know about calories. I am two years out and would still like to drop another 15 pounds. I do 3 protein drinks a day for 80 grams of protein and do at least 100 oz water. Everyone says i dont eat enough , i stay full with what i do eat.  I get in 700 to 800 calories. ...are they right and im not eating enough. I stay really busy most of the time in the garden and do wale 30 minutes a day two times a day.  Help!!!

Do the 800 calories include the protein shakes?  If so, I don't think you're getting enough calories.  How tall are you?

im 5ft 3 inches and weight 160 pounds wearing a size 10 in everything.  im 67 and very active.  yes it does include my protein drinks

My surgeon doesn't really approve of the protein drinks as liquids pass quickly thru our new system and you don't get the nutrition you need from them. You should have a
minimum of 1200 cal/day according to my dietician.

I think you need to eat more solid proteins and less
protein drinks.....just a personal opinion.

i just wish all the surgeons would get on the same page about all of this.  My surgeon says the protein shakes if they are good ones that is the only 100% protein you do get. food you only get about half of what you take in , that is the whole malabsorbition thing. and that does make sense if you look at home food is metabolized.

Protein drinks can be a big debate, one which I refuse to get into. I have done studies and research on them as we had our own business whi*****luded WLS nutrition.

Your surgeon needs to understand the make up of the drinks and how they absorb into your body....they are NOT liquids just passing thru.

Hi...in my opinion you are not getting enough dense protein. The protein shakes shouldn't be your main source of protein. You need more food!!  Change up your diet routine and I bet you start losing again.

I do 120 grams plus of protein supplemented. I use the zero calorie ones like Isopure Zero.....

You want to get your calories up to a min of 1000 per day. Eat your foods, protein first, then what ever you have room for later, like veggies, and fruits.

Now, here's the BIG question. What do your labs  say? what is your protein levels? ferritin? b12? calcium? 25 hydroxy D ? PTH?

Those will tell us what and where you need to increase....

i just had labs run and everything is all in the middle of what is normal. so does the 1000 calories a day , would they include the protein drinks too?  I would use the isopure except the ready to drink is really expensive. are yours ready to drink or a mixture.?
