what's new TUESDAY?

Hi Kathi,

Good luck getting back in the thick of it at work!

As for the food, I can't tolerate "no fat" foods, so I've chosen the low fat kinds, cheeses and such things as 1% milk, etc. . .  anyway, I hit my first stall at around 5/6 weeks and it seemed, as I look back, around the time of the month that I had my surgery, was when I would suddenly see a drop in weight, not sure this will be your scenario, but like you, and since you've been around for my journey, I, too, thought I was going to be the small percentage that it doesn't work for, well here I am, 9 months later and while many have surpassed me in their journey, I have reached a place where I am comfortable and I don't mean as in giving up, but as in, this is my pace and if I keep on doing all the right stuff, the weight will come off.  All I know is I continue to follow the rules, by what I chose to eat and exercising and as you can see by my ticker, I have not lost any weight lately, but I'm here to say I love my life today, lighter, faster and stronger is what I am, oh and healthier, which is most important!

Hugs, Laureen

Hi Kathi:

You know, I am one of those few people who had gastric bypass (and you too) who still had to be on proton pump inhibitors post-op. Right after surgery, like a week, I started having heartburn ... while I was still on liquids! Now how do you get heartburn from the liquid protein drinks, I asked? Well, I guess it's because of the Barrett's esophagus and the damage done there ... no other answer forthcoming. But anyway, you may be one of those folks too. The rest of them got relief from those drugs, but I had to stay on them.

Don't get discouraged. Keep doing what you are doing and it will come off. I know it's hard to hear when you've done this much and it hasn't worked yet, but hang in there. Don't give up hope.

Ya know, I never tried the fat free stuff ... went right to low fat or regular fat (as far as cheeses go, I've always eaten the full fat ... didn't like the no fat ones because they didn't melt or the low fat either ...didn't melt well). I do use the low-fat cream cheese and that's pretty good.

Eileen, 6am Philipsburg time. I'm using the Broadway Hotel computer while Mike sleeps away. We're staying in a restored old hotel that used to house miners. It's right on Main Street and just about a block from the Neitz home. I plan to stop by today. Found out from friends here in town that Trilby is the daught of Betty Christianson who lived next door to Mike's parents for many years! Small world huh? I have your pic and hope to get a picture of them in front of their cute little block home here in town.

Can't wait to see them! It's been so long since I've been back to Montana ... since I lived in South Dakota (must have 1990 or 1991). Have a good visit!

Good Morning Annette and all,
So sorry some of you are having tooth aches, those are awful, kinda like earaches. But worse because you have to go to the dentist. Yuck!

Annette, I am with you, would love to go somewhere warmer, but can't live parents and my Tom has worked so hard on this house and yard...maybe someday.

I have had 2 days at work that I am not falling asleep...I had been forgetting my iron and when Connie mentioned that I could be anemic that made me go "oh, oh" I have been more vigilant about my vitamins. Thank you Connie.

I also have cut myself off of peanut butter because I either had to have it on saltines, or an apple. Well, the saltines are evil little devils that I can't stop eating and the apples require a large amount of Peanut butter sooooo....I just don't take that stuff anymore. Yesterday, I wasn't tired at all! I am hoping this adjustment will move my scale and also keep me awake. It is tough not grazing at night too. Yesterday, I did pretty well...today will be good also.

Laureen, I want to add my congratulations to your 21 years. My goodness girl, you are something! Way to go!

Work is good, some politics, strange ones, that I am trying to figure out how to keep a low profile...I think a lesson the universe keeps sending me....

Kathi, I am saying "NO FAIR!" you work so hard! I just bet this new nut will have some great ideas, and you will not fail....no way.... it will come...it will come off I should say. I am thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way every day!
Well, gotta go see my treadmill and hand weights...then get ready for work and off for the day...

Take care my friends,
Cheryl

Cheryl,

I microwave the peanut butter to make it all melted, then dip in the apple slices. That way, you don't need so much.

bellplantaions.com sell PB2, which I just received. It is a minimum order of 4 jars but I don't care. Tom thinks I am crazy to buy powdered peanut butter. It is low fat and I think very tasty. I mix it with more water than suggested so it makes a better apple dip. A day without my apple is certain plumbing trouble ahead. (TMI?)

That's a good idea Annette. I will try it but first I am going to go this week without to see what happens. I love the Adams but when I run out I may try that powdered kind just to see how it is. Have been curious.

Thanks,
Cheryl

Good Morning Dear Annette and Everyone.......

First of all Congratulations to Laureen...wooohoooo ...21 years....that is awesome!!

Toothaches...ugh....I have never had one and hope I never do!! Just had my check up last week....YAY no cavaties!!! I love my dentist and never mind going there at all.

Cheryl...glad the suggestion helped!!

Moving....YUCK.....sounds awful...especially after all those years!!
I keep saying I am going to but I just never seem to get it done. I live in a Townhouse and just love it. The only reason to move would be to be nearer to my children and grands.

I am glad to see that Linda S. is back...that worried me when there wasn't her usual post here yesterday! Love that gal!!!

I need to get back to work. Plenty to do and only 2 more days to do it this week!!
I am leaving town on Wednesday afternoon AGAIN!!
I am going to South St. Paul on my way to Iowa on Thursday.

I wish everyone a super day!! Take care of yourselfs and find some time for you!!

Special prayers to those in need.
Love, prayers, and hugs to all........connie d
