what's new TUESDAY?
Good Morning Annette and OFF Family!
Me, I'm up (lol)!
Thanks to those who acknowledged my post yesterday re soberity birthday.
I'm here for a minute and then I'm gone to get myself going for the work day. Today finds me going to work, then heading to an AA meeting this evening before coming home and going to bed, there is a mundane quality to my work week, but that is o****rtainly seem to make up for it on the weekends!
Ok, time to get dressed and head out the door, have a wonderful day all.
Prayers for those who are in need, hugs and positive thoughts to all, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Hi Laureen:
I meant to congratulate you on your sobriety anniversary too. That's quite an accomplishment. For all of us who deal with our food and other addictions (spending for me too), being in recovery from an alcohol addiction for 21 years is something to really celebrate. It's something I know you work on constantly, because I struggle now to work on my food and spending addictions constantly, too. I read an interesting article in Sports Illustrated about Josh Hamilton, the Texas Rangers star who is getting all the press about his drug/alcohol problems. He quoted a passage from the Bible that said something to the extent of facing the devil and he will flee from you. I can't remember the exact quote, but it hit me in the face as I was struggling to deal with my overspending and my budget problems. I wrote down and looked at it every day for a couple of weeks, and it seemed to help me. I guess it was my higher power speaking to me. I know that's what they preach in AA, letting go to your higher power, whatever that is for you.
So congratulations on working your program, and making it work for you for 21 years. Keep it up!

Hi Eileen and Laureen.....here is the quote from Josh Hamilton:
‘Humble yourself before God and resist the Devil and he will flee from you.’[ James 4:7] God knows your heart and He knows what you’re struggling with and He’ll put in front of you what you need to hear.
Hugs, Marti

I can sympathise with Debbie and her toothache. I cracked a tooth and have the first toothache in my life. The dental appointment is Thursday so it will be misery until then. With two mandatory work trainings it was impossible to get in earlier.
The Actonel doesn't seem to have the painful side effects I experienced with the Fosomax. My joints had become as painful as they felt before WLS. Keeping my fingers crossed for this med.
I love my two support groups. The Newbies come to the meeting wondering if WLS will really work for them. The 'regulars' ask me to show my before pictures. Each time, the reaction is the same - a look of shock and a double take.
The surgeon require potential patients to attend both RNY and the Lap-band support group meetings before making a decision. With complete honesty, I can tell the new people that the choice is very personal and one is not better than the other. WLS is not one size fits all. By attending the groups and asking questions, people make the choice which best fits their personality and life style.
Tom is taking the beginning steps for a January retirement. He wants to sell the house and move to a warmer climate because the Winters are so painful for me. I have lived in this house for 42 years and have only moved once in my life - from my parents house to this one as a new bride.
It makes more sense (to me) to try spending the winter months in a rental first, instead of a total move. Renting with 8 cats might be a problem though. Can't leave my furbrats behind so we will have to work this out.
The birds are starting to chirp, the furbrats are all up and active, and I need to do paperwork. TTFN and You have a perfect day.
Kisses
Annette
