Monday What's New?
We drove to the Renaissance Festival under threatening skies but decided to attend despite the prospect of rain. Mud, rain, puddles and wet people didn't stop us from having a great time. When the skies spewed rain, we just got cosy under our umbrella. It was a good day.
I am just hanging out until it is time to go to work. A nap is in order for later today.

My church service went well yesterday. I got a lot of compliments on the sermon and many compliments on the hymns I picked to sing. We sang 4 of them since I love to sing. There was a lot of people there and things went well. I felt comfortable and wasn't nervous like I usually am. This time it seemed good. All of the worrying for nothing. Isn't that the way it usually goes? Oh well! We are only human after all. haha
The weather here is kind of overcast. It is still hot and humid and icky. I stuck my head out the door and said to Bill that it is still hot and icky. I can take the heat but just can't take the humidity. I never could and I don't think I ever will. Now it looks like it is going to rain. Of course it is, that is all it does here this summer! What is wrong with me thinking that we just might have a summer day complete with the sunshine? I must have lost my senses!
I talked to Pastor last night. They are going to get the results of the biopsy today. They are 97% sure that it is a gleoblastoma mass. The prognosis for that is 1 year with treatment. Pastor is looking for a extended care facility for him now. His dad is going to have radiation treatment for 6-7 weeks 5 days a week and oral chemo for the same time. As it stands now Pastor is going to be gone until next week because of finding the extended care place and getting his dad settled. Then when his dad gets settled and treatment is going on Pastor is going to go to Ohio every week and then spend the night and come home. He not only Pastors our church but he is writting his dissertation for his PhD. He is one busy man for sure. He has many irons in the fire now. I would appreciate any and all prayers that you can say for that family. Pastor is an only child and his mom is gone now so he is it. It is hard taking care of a ailing parent and harder when they are a state away.
I am going to go to the library today after Bill goes to work. I have to take back my 4 books back that is overdue. I keep the library going not only with my tax dollars but also with the fines that I pay them when I forget to take the books back! I belong to the summer reading club too. We fill out a little slip of paper for each book that we read. It just has the title of the book and the author and if we would suggest it to read. One year I won a gift certificate at a book store. I loved that one and hope that I get another one this year. I do so love to read. One of my favorite authors is Kate Collins. She lives one town over, Valparaiso, and so many of the things in her books are so familiar to me. She talks of the courthouse and the shops around the square and I see the familar things. She talks of the dunes and Lake Michigan and it is just fun to read that. Besides she is good author too. That just doubles the fun of reading her books. I think she is having a new book out next month. I just can't wait. I like Joanne Fluke too. They are both good light mystery writers.
My house is getting messy again since Bill is in his drop and leave mode right now. I have been working on changing that but he seems to be getting worse about it than he use to be. I am just going to give up on changing that bad habit. I will just continue to walk behind him and pick up his crap. After 20 years of working on it I am conceding on this one. haha
I guess I had better get going. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone. I am saying special ones for those in need of them. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to smile. Smiles are contagious.
