59 Year Old Newbie to OFF!

WELCOME!!! I was 54 when I had my WLS (5/23/08) and went through all the fun stuff you are going through also! WORSE THAN THE ACTUAL SURGERY!!! But I am down 50 from day of surgery and feel FANTASTIC! Hang in there and best wishes!

Thanks Engel for the welcome... you are doing so good, you've lost 50 pounds already since 5/23/08!  You go girl  I don't have much patience at my age ( raising 2 daughters took it all LOL) but my surgery date will soon be confirmed once I met Dr. Roye on August 8th, hopefully around 8-23-08, this is just a guess... hugs, Gerry

Welcome to OFF, as Reggie said, it is one of the best places on OH for supportive and information, as well as friendships. 

You sound well on your way to having WLS and I hope you get a good feel from this surgeon you mentioned, because you have done everything else you need to pave the road to your big day.  In the meantime, keep coming back to OH and educating yourself.

Hi Laureen, Thanks for all the positive comments about OFF... I am so very glad I found you all.

I'll let you all know how my meet with Dr. Roye goes and will be so happy that I can post a surgery date... it's getting closer.

I just have no patience... but when one has no choice, one waits!!
