Marc,
I retired at age 62 with 36 yrs in the business world.
Before I was married, I had a year of college studying
piano and voice.....I had 10 piano students at that time.

After I retired, I was really bored and thought about getting back into teaching piano, so I advertised for students and now 7 yrs later I am still teaching and loving every minute of it. I'm 69 yrs "Young" and plan to teach
as long as the kids will have me....it's never too late!

Many systems have postions where you can work and go to school at the same time. Urban systems are crying for teachers. You may even be able to try substituting to see if you like teaching. I found that schools that have special education classes often need subs. Your background in Spanish wouldnt hurt. Go for it!

Marc,

You got lots of good input, mine is simple, the 4 years will go by anyway, so what do you have to lose by trying?  and if you think you'd really like it, all the more reason to make a plan for the next 4 years, just leave room for life, as sometimes we plan and God laughs. . .

Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

marc, I always think of you as a teacher already! You do so much explaining, and describing  to help people out on our OFF.  In some cases, people do not even have to have a college degree to become a teacher, especially for the shop classes, and food service types of things. I have a cousin who did not finish his degree until well after he was hired, in VA, perhaps even years later.. I say Ask around and go for it!  it suits you to a T!
Blessings and hugs, hoping for the best,  Donna H
