gall bladder issues- a question please

Dr Hagen removed my gall bladder when he did my RnY surgery.  The gall bladder had to come out..it was filled with tiny stones and I'd been having serious gall bladder attacks.

Now, over two years later, Im starting to have what feels like gall bladder attacks again...especially notable because of the pain across the mid-lower back.

Id heard somewhere that the surgeon has to make sure to take the gall DUCT out too because stones can still form in the duct..is this true?

Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a solution? The attacks dont come often but they hurt when they do.

you can still experience sludge in the bile ducts.

You probably should get checked out if this pain continues as sometimes there can be a stricture of the common bile duct [from the liver and the removed gallbladder] Love, Marti

Nancy, I had my gall bladder out many many moons before my wls. I still on occaision have gall bladder attacks. My doctor told me that it was because he couldn't get all of the stones out. My one girlfriend had hers out too and she still gets the attacks at times to. I guess we must all be sludgey! ICK! I have been called a lot of things in my life but that is a discusting thought of what is in my ducts. lol
