Well we had a big restoration in the human race the last couple of days.
We have this rental house that we are restoring and the electric really needed to be re done. It had the old fuse boxes and everytime you turned two things on at once it would blow a fuse. Anyway to make a long story shorter. I post a whats Happening post daily on the Missouri board and in it last week i told about the old house and the problem we had with it. also about having an electrician out to give us an estimate , which was 3500.00 ...any way Thursday morning one of my friends from the mo. board wanted to know if we were going to be home thurs and friday , she came up with her husband , turns out he is an electrician , he figured up what all we needed and he and Joe went into town and got the stuff and Virgil did all the work for us. wouldnt accept anything for it at all. I cooked him  some really good meals but that is all that he wanted . Now you tell me that the human consideration for our fellow man is completly gone. No way with people like this in the world yet. Sure makes you feel good .

Good Morning Barb and all,

Sitting out on the porch watching the birds feeding the babies. Enjoying the nice summer morning; my most favorite fime of the day.

Man, Nancy, you are one busy lady! Wow! I wish I had your kind of energy or go get em spirit! I admire you. I have always wanted to do something with my scrapbooking, like at least submit pages to be published but I am just too lazy...

Not much planned. Need to get groceries, give the house a bit of care and do laundry. Last weekend was busy, hope this one is just a do what I want one.

Have been dog sitting my dog niece.
My sister will come get  her today. We'll miss her. She's a good girl.

While my eating hasnt been stellar this past week, I have increased the speed I walk on the treadmill and added wieights so at least I have done something right.

I have been making our vacation plans. We are going to stay at a B&B on Capital Hill in Seattle for a couple of nights (less than a mile from my son) then go to Friday Harbor in the San Juans for a night, then stay a night in Wintrop WA for a night the just home for the rest of the vacation. We haven't had one for years. Last year we used our vacation time and went back to NJ for my father in law's funeral. Was suppose to be a visit but didn't turn out that way. So anyway we are looking forward to this little get a way.

Well, I am either off to go have a little rest again, or to walk the treadmill, or read the paper or head out to get groceries...decisions, decisions.

TTYL, have a lovely day,
Cheryl

Hi all.  A sunny Saturday here.

I had an "episode" this morning.  That's what my DH calls it.  I had gained weight while I was in Vegas last week and have been working on getting it and more off.  Well, what I gained came off easily (I think a lot of it was all the salty restaurant food, and WAY too much OJ).  I have been pushing the exercise and diet and this AM I woke up all sweaty, dizzy, nauseous, week.  Low blood sugar!  I'm not diabetic, but after this happened a few times and I used my DH's glucometer and went to doc for check-up and an A1C, and it was decided that is what these are!  So no exercise for me this AM.  I will go back to writing down my food intake (obviously I am not getting enough calories and/or protein), and I will be a good girl.  Back to my more sensible exercise program tomorrow!  But I only need to lose 1 more pound and I'll be at 80 pounds lost!!!

We are watching a tropical storm that could become tropical depression Crystabal and it is headed our way.  It'll drop lots of rain on us this weekend sometime.

Good Morning Barb....I love nice summer family birthday parties.....and all the cute little babies. I was getting my Cappachino this morning and there was a lady in line with such a cute baby and she had her arms full and gave the baby to her daugher who looked to be about 6-7 years old and she could barely hold that fat little bundle...so I took him and said "Oh, let me help and then I can get my baby fix for the day" ..so I took him and patted all his cute little fat rolls, he kept turning around and looking at me with his great big brown eyes...Like "who are you?"..but he never cried and in fact just kep****ching me after I gave him back. Don't you just love babies?? The Mama just smiled...who doesn't love being told their baby is adorable?

I did my golf outing yesterday and my team won for "Having the Most Fun"...we were very honest about our scores and so we had the highest score and we won the cutest prize of a "Bobble" Donkey....it was a little trophy [we all four got one] with the donkey "Bobbeling" it's rear end in the air and enscribed "The Biggest Loser" Restaino & Associates Golf Outing.....It was a great time, except my girlfriend "Mario Andrettie II" was a crazy driver and I had to hold on tight as we bounced around sometimes....in fact when we "roared" out at the "shotgun" start  with all the other golf carts [there were 76 of us playing]....I nearly fell out of the cart....I shouted "Pray for me".. and we took off and promptly got lost.....She screamed "Where are we going??" ...I said"I sure don't know, but we are making excellent time!!"

Someone took our picture and hopefully I will be able to get it and show you all.

We had a pig roast afterwards and visited with everyone...and after several glasses of wine, Michael drove my girlfriend and I home...and I went to bed.[long day of sun, food and wine]...so I woke up very early this morning....but I was a good girl and went over to workout for an hour....I have just set my hair....too curly not to try and tame it now...and I needed to check in with you guys.

Nancy ....you are busy busy as usual....I looked up some of your illustrations and you are so talented....actually you are so talented in so many ways.....probably far more than JB.....why do you worry what he says to you?.....tell him ....it is none of his business what you look like or what you do and you will not tolerate it. Who put him in charge of you?? #@*%$ I am nice to people that are nice to me...but I also will not tolerate someone intentionally making me feel bad about myself.

Well, I am off to get ready for a "Listing Appointment"....that is when I go to list a home. This lady has been taken advantage of by another real estate person and I feel so bad for her. She is so nice. Plus,  I do want to sell her home quite badly as her next door neighbor...a former client of mine that was never very nice to me just listed their home with someone else...I think because her husband liked me...but Good Lord, I am 20 years older than him and she certainly had no reason to be jealous. When I told my new client  that I had sold the house to them and wondered why they didn't call me back....she said "Do you like her?" I said....."well, I always thought she was a little strange"....and she blurted out  "The whole neighborhood hates her" ...she is sooo mean and is always calling the police on everyone....everyone will be thrilled to see her go" Takes all kinds.

Jan, I am so happy for you that you got that help in your electrical...what a nice man....he is the good kind.

Susan, what fun it will be to go to a pageant and help out and people watch.......I am sure your client is very greatful.

Brenda, I am sure that you will be wonderful giving your mesage tomorrow...you are a very special and humble person....and I am certain it will come through in your sermon tomorrow. Be sure to let us know how it goes.

Have a great day everyone...Love, Marti

Hi Barb and everyone:

I need to get in the shower and have lunch, but I'll stop here briefly. It's raining here, and I have to go to work today ... but the money will be nice next week. Worked late last night, well, till midnight because of a review (and Kim, who usually does reviews, was doing the front page last night for the first time and was a little nervous, so I did the review). Everything went well; she was fortunate to have a veteran Page 1 person like Tom around plus Andy, my boss, to help her out, and of course, me, who doesn't want to do Page 1 (too stressful!) but who picks up the slack in everything else. I decided a few years ago that I didn't need extra stress in my life and quit trying to overachieve. I'm happy being a worker bee and not the queen bee.

So I slept peacefully until 10 with Scooter in my arms, got up, watched the rest of the Sox game that I recorded, had my AchievOne, some coffee and exercised, but boy, did my knee when I cycled. So now I have to get moving and get ready for my day because I start early on Saturdays (at 3-3:30) but we get done by 10 or 10:30, so that's OK.

Have a good day. Nancy, hang in there, you'll start losing when your body is ready to go again. Just keep following the plan and it will work for you. Don't let negative comments do you in. I have faith in you!

Hello Barb and everyone......

It has been a nice day so far. I went for coffee with a group of ladies from the MN board this morning. We hung out until late. I came back to my daughters and made lunch for my granddaughter Kyleigh and me. She went to take a nap and I think that is where I am going too!!

Nothing else planned for today. I want to relax the rest of the weekend. Plenty of leftovers for tonight and tomorrow at least through lunch.

Glad all is well with everyone here.

Love, prayers and hugs....connie d

A very late afternoon Hello to you all!

I got a call late yesterday afternoon scheduling an Endoscopy for first thing Monday morning.  I had been set to go back to work on Monday but those plans quickly got changed!  Yikes...  I've been off work 6 weeks now so what's one more day.

I didn't sleep very well last night because -- naturally for me -- I was worried about all the work needing to be done.  So...... I went into work this morning and got some things done!  I do feel better now but wish I could have stayed longer and gotten even more done.  But.... hubby called and "reasoned" with me that I'd been at it long enough.   He was right because I needed to eat some protein.

I have an appt scheduled with a Nutritionist recommended to me by my neighbor.  She had her WLS about a year ago and has been quite successful.  She recommends this person so I have high hopes there's help/guidance with my low protein problem.  I have to wait 2 weeks for the appt. so she must be actively working!  That's a good thing.

Otherwise, I've nothing much new to share.  Hope you all enjoy what's left of your Saturday!

Hugs,

Kathi

I can't beleive that I thought today was gonna be quiet with just one thing to do.
About 7 am our phone rang and it was our nephew from Tennessee they were on their way to Wyoming for vacation.  He wanted to go to Pioneer Village which is in Minden, Ne a real little town.  We met them about 10 this morning and spent a few hours there then drove over to Kearney,Ne to eat at Runzas.   My nephew is from NE and was craving Runza food so we went there, I had a smoothie there and one onion ring.
Then we came home and went to the birthday party , it was so hot.  We gave my great nephew a bike helmet and he has a melon size head and it was too small (we had the receipt and his mom was going to exchange it as soon as the party was over).............he bawled and cried and had a major tantrum that is was too small.  His mother and grandmother tried bribes and all kinds of excuses for his behavior.   I have no patience for that kind of behavior.  My adult son said to me "You would have never allowed us to act like that"
Anyway we went on a train ride around the park with our 2 year  old grandaughter which was fun for grandma.
Now we are home sitting in air conditioning...........and resting my feet that have blisters on them from my new sandals.
Maybe my house will get cleaned tomorrow............
Another birthday party we went to and I didn't miss eating the cake and ice cream.
