New to Board
Good morning all,
I was just reading posts in this room and wanted to introduce myself. I am 51 and will be having my surgery on the 24th of this month. Today I am going for all the preop stuff and I am very nervous and excited. . I am so tired of hurting all the time (knees and back) that I can't see straight! I am glad to hear that this weight loss after 50 is posssible after all. Thanks for all of your inspirational stories and your courage. Have a great day all and wish me luck!

Welcome to one of the friendliest, supportive places on OH. We're like one big happy family here, lending information and support where needed.
The excitement and nervousness are par for the course and before long you will very likely have some relief of the pain you are experiencing if it is weight related, either way, this will bring you to a healthier living situation and is soooooooo worthwhile!
Wishing you the best on your PATs and looking forward to welcoming you to the Loser's Bench next week!

Congratulations on the start of your new and wonderful life. It won't be long now. It is going to here and gone before you know it. I am keeping you in my prayers for an uneventful surgery with a quick and pain free recovery time. I am keeping the medical staff in my prayers also for knowledge and compassion.
Welcome!
In my opinion, we older folks have a better chance of weight loss success than a lot of younger folks because we're better able to follow our surgeon's and nutritionists instructions and are highly motivated to improve our health.
Good luck with your surgery.
