Thank you all for your support!!!!!!!!! It means so much and I knew you'd all come through for me and you are right. I'm looking for my cheshire cat grin now! LOl!  Off to run a few errands now, Earl is taking the grands with  to pick up his sister at the airport and then they'll all go to see his mom before coming home. So I will have a few hours to relax and repeat the mantra  "stay calm, stay calm, stay calm"......  Hope to get a chance to pop in here during the next four days!   Lotsa hugs, paulette

Paulette, you will do fine. I know that stress is very well......ahhhh........stressfull!

You seem to have things under control and you can always say what I do when someone complains about what I do. I just look at them and say "Well, I didn't see you stepping up to the plate. If you can do better, then have at it." That usually shuts their big pie hole!!!

Good luck and remember we are here for you if you need to get away! I am sending love and hugs to you. Hope you feel them.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

She sounds like my sister ... always complaining about everything that's served at my brother's house ... she doesn't like ham and she doesn't like this or that; well, she's not cooking! And that's how I feel about your sister-in-law, she's not cooking, so she can eat what's served or buy dinner. She's a guest. Your menu sounds fine; don't fret about it. It's one weekend and one guest. Does she like pasta? You could do spaghetti but use the whole wheat kind that will be good for you too. Or since it's going to be hot over the weekend, how about something that won't heat up the kitchen, like build your own salads or something like that ... or barbecue something?

Just relax a little ... my sister stresses out everyone at Christmas too because she insists on having our get-together and then *****es about it the whole time, when all she ever does is gets cold cut sandwiches for it. And then after we open presents and have our meal, she shooes us out of the house so fast ... she really doesn't want to have us around at all. We all figure that after our mom dies, she won't have anything to do with any of us ... she hardly wants to have anything to do with mom anyway; when mom had breast cancer, my sister complained about taking her for her outpatient surgery. I would have gone but I live kind of far (Rosemary lives 1 hour away; I'm four hours).

Paulette, if I can help you with an idea or a recipe (not that I cook much, but maybe I have something in my head), let me know. In the meantime, take a deep breathe, have a glass of wine (don't know if you drink, but that would be my solution, or a beer), and don't let her upset you.

Hi, Paulette... How are you "holding up" under the SIL stress?  DH & I had visitors for 3 different weeks over the winter.  We're basically healthy eaters and thought that they were too.  Obviously, I've had WLS so I don't chow down on snacks, cookies, and ice cream, as I did pre-op / SMO.  I really held up well.  If it was sabotage, it didn't have the full impact.
There was also a bit of "I like this here and that done that way".... Hey, no problem... move it and make yourself at home.  DH & I "cracked-up" laughing everynight, when we were finally alone.
Honestly, I did put a lot of stress on us and we've decided to limit the amount of visitations!  With that said... We are going to be at a beach rental apartment for 2 weeks; Week 1 w/ DH... Week 2 w/ our grown sons!  I can "Growl" at them!  My biggest problem will be that I'll be "unplugged"!!!
Hoping to get to the library's computer for OH and food journaling!

Hope you survive!!!  Sounds like it's Shark Week!!!
