stress on the horizon

Tomorrow my sister in law is coming in for a few days. Sometimes we get along ok and other times.....depends on how much she drinks. She is coming to see her mom and doesn't understand why my mother in law doesn't know who she is when she talks to her on the phone...like Alzheimers goes away or something or will get better. She is also tends to be critical if things aren't the way she thinks they sould be and conflict makes me nutso

She is a picky eater so planning meals is difficult except she does like southwest  food. I of course don't like spicy food. I also see my nutritionist on Friday and we are all going to our nieces graduation party on Saturday.  So I have lots of food challenges over the next four days.  Tomorrow night I plan on making Chicken Fajitas, Refried Beans and Spanish Rice for dinner, Fajitas and Salad for me, I don't like the beans or rice. Saturday we will be at the graduation party and having dinner there, so that is up in the air too. I did really good with my food choices at the 4th of July party we went to, so hopefully I will be able to do the same on Saturday.  I don't know what to cook for Friday night, maybe I'll check eggface's blog or my friend Dawn's she always has good alternatives.  In the past when I would get stressed, worried upset etc. I would overeat. ...I don't want to undo what I've been working so hard for.  Sorry I needed to vent...I know you all understand.  Paulette

Hi Paulette....everything will work out fine. Your company will be here and gone before you know it.
Sounds like you have plenty to do to keep busy. Your meals are pretty much planned ......just go with the flow!!
Some people never  understand Alzheimers. Somedays the person is good and remembers things then in a fla**** is all gone.

Prayers and hugs heading your way....connie d

Hi Eileen , thanks for the kind words.  I got through dinner with the help of a glass of Blackberry Merlot!!! I havent had a drink in over 3 years....but felt I needed it today. Besides since I'm off BP med it shouldn;t hurt..   I was just on the daily plate and cheking my food totals for today thought I'd peek in here, I had more calories today than I have in a long time but still under 1400. I see the Nutr. tomorow at 9am. Hugs, paulette

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*  Paulette,  first..... take a deep breath....  second.....  exhale & remember we all have relatives like this...  and she will go home soon.   third..... some people like to rattle our chain.... don't let her.  Keep a smile (cheshire cat kind) on your face.   fourth....  Cook whatever YOU and your family want to eat ....  I understand about the food and overeating with stress.  Plan ahead for it and have some stress free foods ready.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  We look forward to hearing about a very successful visit....   Millie

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Everything will be fine. Hey, if she doesn't like what you cook, she can buy dinner........
