Hi Carla and my OFF family:

We are having an ozone alert day, so I haven't filled up the tank yet. I'm a little over half full so I can stand to wait til evening. I don't usually like to fill it up on the way home from work late at night (or in this case, early in the morning ... it'll probably be 12:30-1 a.m. ... we have two reviews tonight).

I got up at 10 this morning and was hustling to take my shower and get out for shopping this morning when my friend Rox called. After she babbled on about her kids, she actually listened to my problems for awhile and didn't want to get off the phone for once. I got a little emotional about my knee ... yup, it still hurts, I have one Celebrex left and I'm not refilling the prescription, not at $27+ and the risk of ulcers, GERD and the fact I have Barrett's esophagus and shouldn't be taking NSAIDs of any kind after WLS. I tried this for a month and it didn't work. Even Rox, the nurse, said if it didn't help after a month, that's enough time. She was actually sympathetic for once and not judgmental as she has been the last few times we talked.

Anyway, I was late getting out because we talked until nearly 11:30; got out to shop and only did Meijer and Walgreens, and Walgreens was a quick trip just for prescriptions ... was just going to go through the drive-thru but there were two cars waiting and I didn't want to waste gas, so I went inside and got the water I wanted that was on sale. Geez, prescriptions I had to get, my Allegra-D and my CombiPatch hormone replacement therapy were $37+ and the water was $5 for 30 bottles ... expensive trip there. Carla, I stopped at a Starbucks and didn't see that protein drink, but then I wasn't really looking; I just got the usual coffee with SF cinnamon dolce that I get every Thursday when I shop at Meijer. It was nearly 1 by the time I got through, so I skipped the other shopping I had planned; maybe tomorrow.

Came home and had lunch, took out trash to get ready for trash day tomorrow. I need to pay cable bill because it's past due from last month, so I have to catch up; paid phone bill so they won't disconnect me. I may actually have some money left from this week ... woohoo!

Hey, a woohoo to you, Margo, on the DAR! I know you really wanted that.

Well, I need to pay Comcast and do a couple other online things and then scoop the poop from the litter boxes yet. Have a good day.

Aime, good to see you back! Have you watched the show, "Hopkins"? It's about Johns Hopkins hospital ... they actually showed a heart transplant last week ... very interesting. Is N at Hopkins?

Well, have a good day.

Hi Carla,

Thanks for sharing that bit about the new Starbucks drink, I won't be trying it anytime soon. . .

Gas, well it amazes me that the gas stations have such different prices down by me, some as high as 4.09 and others as low as 3.83 and then the nerve of the companies to want to charge an extra 10 cents if someone wants to put it on their charge card. . .  the people with the money are not feeling the effects of this economy as most of us are, I passed an oil company the other day, home heating oil advertised at $4.69 a gallon, how are the poor people with famiies and the fixed income retirees/disabled supposed to keep themselves warm this year?  I just don't know, but in many ways, it's too many years of putting our heads in the sand that got us here. . .  my 11 gallon, Toyota, Corolla cost me about $42 to fill up, at least it's not my old Buick which only got 19 miles per gallon local and had a 14+ tank, glad I decided last year to look into a car that gives better gas mileage, I average about 32 mpg combined city/highway. . .

I wish I was going to be going to visit with all you folks, but hope to meet you all another time. . .  I still want to get to Ohio to see Margo, perhaps in the early fall, my summer just got off to a busy start and has gotten more so, all good stuff, but seems I'm always off to do something somewhere with someone. . . like I said, good stuff. . .

Yesterday I met with Tony for lunch and it was a beautiful day outside, the ferry ride while short, was a nice thing, we had a lovely time together, as we do whenever we are together, it just seems we haven't been able to see that much of each other lately, but the next few weeks we have a few things to look forward to, so that is nice.  So Carla I relate to the cheap date syndrome.

Well folks, I'm meeting my g/f (sister from another mother) after work and she is coming down to spend the weekend, so we are planning a relaxing weekend doing whatever we want, so I might not have much time to visit with you all, if that be the case I wish you all good days. . .

Prayers, hugs, and positive thoughts, Laureen

well; i'm back! i may have threatened all y'all with that!

we had a fairly nice afternoon-hot! i dunno if we are in ozone alert-i haven't seen or heard news today-but i had to fill up or could not have finished my day- we paid 3.89 -wish i had had enough to get to the other station where it was 3.83 however- we were not sure that it would be lower so oh well! my KIA Rondo holds 15.8 gallons and i needed 11.41--ouch! was 44 bucks! that should last me for the week i hope! and i'm getting about 26 mpg which isn't horrid but not as great as i would like! anyhow...yes; the fuel oil cost is outrageous- a very very dear friend of ours in wisconsin uses that and i pray she stays warm this winter!

so- we went to findlay- couldn't find what we were looking for and drove around a bit- had late lunch at hong kong buffet- then i did the plasma thing...on the way home we found a cemetery that i needed to do a photo at ....it's enjoyable to walk looking at the stones! tho we were very happy to get back into the (car)ac and then get home!

does anyone remember that i mentioned a job i applied for recently? well; they still have not done anything about interviewing-everyone is overwhelmed in the office- so--at least i haven't been left out yet--tho i truly doubt that i would be even considered...one of teh gals i work with also has applied -that'show i know that they haven't interviewed- i am sure that a friend of someone in the office will get it and that it was formality to post ! i sure need the full time tho...

so- the scale is not moving at all but my rings are getting loose- hmmmmmmm....

judy; i can relate to the job buisness.....soon it will happen...soon!!!!

karen..a more beautiful slug i have never seen!!!!!

jeannie....uck i detest bugs...that was tooooo close for comfort!

grammylew-um i have a whole house that needs a thorough cleaning....i can send you directions to get here!!!!!

laureen...the invitation is always there!

no annette...must still be busy with the grands!!!!

dunno much else tonite- hugs to all and prayers where needed--and thank you all for being here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
