What's New Wednesday, July 16 -- Happy Hump Day!
Good Morning Brother's & Sista's,
Hope you had a restful sleep. . .
My plan for today is to go to work for a half day, taking the ferry across from New York to Weehawken for lunch with Tony, as our respective busy schedules have not allowed for too much time together these last 3 weeks, he will drop me off at the train station and I will head for Barix for the monthly post-op meeting. Stay cool as you can!
I'll check back later, got to get ready for work and out the door.
Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

A lady i know bought this house and it has a wonderful mature landscaped backyard with all these older plants and shrubs and she doesnt like it and wants it all gone , she was going to hire a guy to come in and to tear it all out and throw all the plants away. I told her dont you dare i will come and take out all the plants and shrubs and then you can hire someone to tear the beds down and stuff and do your thing. she only wants grass in her back yard nothing else.
So we went Sunday and dug and dug and had the whole back end of our pickup full. we are going again today to fini**** up it will be another pickup load i know. this last bunch i dont have to be nearly as careful with tho as it is lillies , about 5 beds full of all different colors daylillies , I just cant believe that someone doesnt want any flowers, but that is my gain and her loss. lol
so im getting ready to do that today and also a friend of mine from out of town is coming in this afternoon so i have been getting ready for her .
im tired already lol

Jan,
When my mom and dad built their home in 1956 there was a bare 1/3 acre hillside behind the house. Mom and Dad, mostly Mom!, terraced that hill side, built steps of old concrete, cemented riverrocks along the sides of the walkway, creating 3 rock garden beds up the hill. On top there was a grassy area that I tried to convince them (with no luck) would make a beautiful swimming pool area. Over the years she gleaned plants from friends' yards and National Parks! (I know a "no-no"). Mom would say: "They won't miss just one. . . " of whatever. I just knew I'd get a call some day that she was in jail for digging up something where she shouldn't have.
Over the years she "paid it forward" by freely sharing from her yard with anyone who admired something in it. On her 94th birthday she was "gifted" bulbs of every kind and color. I'm sure that yard is a riot of color each spring even tho she is no longer there. I'm also sure her spirit visits daily to help Donna the lady who bought her home tend her flower beds. Donna is about 75, loves flowers, thrift shops, and many of the same things that my mom did.
I'm sure Mom handpicked her to be the caretaker of her home and yard. Wow, don't know where all of that came from so early this am. I fell asleep early, took Maggie out, and now can't get back to sleep. Heading out on a camping trip in a few hours to Cooper Lake. Up in the Cascade Mountains above Roslyn, WA. Roslyn is the little town where they filmed Northern Exposure some years back. The water in the lake is crystal clear and cold. It's supposed to be hot so I'm sure we'll take refreshing dips every day. I'll be home Saturday. Jan, I can just imagine your elation at your windfall. Kind of like hitting the lottery huh?

Jan,
I know you are thrilled to be getting all those plants. I also know that not one of them will die because you are such a gifted gardner. Maybe soon, I can come by and take a look at your flowers and watch your birds.
Oh, my daughter is beginning to take a keen interest in flowers and the other weekend when I went back to the house, she proudly displayed her rose bushes that she had planted and some more lillies that she took from my back yard and put in the front. She said if she had the money, she would buy another rose bush so I gave her money to go get whatever she wanted. AS long as she is sniffing flowers and not dope, I'm happy.

quiet nite at our house, thank God!
today's hilites will be work for me this morning then michael has his 5 week appt with the shoulder surgeon....have no clue what the next step will be in re therapy as the surgeon is being cautious this go round!
jan i am so envious of your rotten luck about these flowers--my jaw just dropped when i first read of this the other day!!! how cool for you and joe! i decided last nite --well had an epiphany!! that i need to find some large leafed hostas for an area that i previoulsy thought i wanted some blue rug junipers....just don't have the funds right now!
laureen your day will be great with lunch with your fella and then your barix mtg...enjoy! i love the ferry rides too...calming to me.....the water has always had a wonderful effect on me...maybe cuz i am an aquairian? when i would be troubled i would go to the lakeshore and sit or walk til i resolved my thoughts-i loved the november shoreline of lake erie when the waves would crash!!!! in my former life; i was very close to the lake and could easily get there when needed...maybe that is something that is missing in my "therapy" now that i have to drive quite a distance to get to a shoreline.....we have that creek behind our property but it isn't the same......
a comment to barb e and jeanb...i am so tickled to know that you two met and that you enjoyed your time together-wish you would both consider our gtg in frankenmuth in october! i'll run something about it again in the next few days or so...
again i thank everyone for the continued prayers and concerns about michael and myself and a few private emails ...i have read and am paying credence to everything! personally i just am so tired of so much "stuff" and would welcome a quiet life again ! i have more thoughts on this , however, i am trying to exercise caution today in what i verbalize ifyaknowwhatimeanaboutlurkers!!!!
has anyone seen aime???? hope that all is ok at her house...usually when she is gone it means some change with N's health....i pray that it is not that .....
well; i may be back later but for now sending hugs and prayers to all ......
