Sushi...
I LooOOoooOOooove sushi!
I know... probably not good for ya... but I don't think it's really bad either... my pouch seems to like it anyhoo...
So... been buying those 6 piece packages at Publix... $5.99... basically a buck a piece... kinda reminds me of being overseas in the Army, but I digress
I decided a couple of weeks ago that I was going to teach myself how to make sushi... and save a few bazillion dollars in the meantime hopefully.... rounded up the supplies, watched every video online I could find, read and studied all I could, and then launched into it.
I had quite a few errors, although the errors sure tasted good....
Today, after several attempts and reading and watching videos again, I was finally able to get out a very large batch of sushi! I made a little over 110 pieces, which will probably go bad before I can eat them and give them to family members who like sushi (only 1, my sister in law) but I noticed I was getting better and better and just didn't want to stop.
I thought it was pretty cool that it is almost like my woodworking... you just have to get it into your head you are going to learn and don't stop until you figure it out! .... wish I had that determination for losing the weight... hopefully one of these days that particular light bulb will come on....
OK... it's all in the fridge cooling... and now I am off to the new house to clean out the shed (they left a bunch of junk! ... ) and continue the packing and cleaning and patching holes in the walls and ... and ... and.... gotta love moving... but I have sushi now!
*~*~*~*~*~* I LUV SUSHI Here in the Seattle area we have wunderful sushi sources.... I too made my own However, since surgery my pouch has decided it doesn't like fish..... whaaa.. Share your sushi with your new neighbors... Oh wait, better not... give it as a "moving away" gift to the old neighbors.... hee hee... Millie
Hey Marc,
I made sushi for Easter this past spring - my very first time and it turned out fantabulously ! I went to a specialty market recently and found purple sticky rice ! I will be making it agin but will have to wait a bit till I'm eating more "solid" foods which also means that right now I'm not getting any breads, pastas or rice...... but I do know my pouch has always liked seafood - thank goodness.... now then chicken is another matter. I love learning new skills like these too !

I love California Rolls....I know there is no fish in them, therefore no protein, but I do love them. I am not sure if the fish really nakes a difference, but my husband and my daughter and son also love sushi......we had California Rolls for Sarah's wedding reception and they had to constantly refill them. It is a nice little snack.
