It's Saturday on the West Coast! What's up?

Hi everyone:

I had problems posting too ... the only way I could post was in Editor 2 ... editor 1 came up with an error on the page. Something's screwy with OH's server, I guess.

We had a late night at work with a review. Our night editor's wife called and asked if we wanted something from Dairy Queen ... since I seldom get anything from DQ because there's no DQ near here (other than the mall, which I don't go to because I have no money), I opted for a small Blizzard. It was so good, and I didn't finish the whole thing because at the end I started to feel a little sick and got a sugar high. Then about 10 p.m. I got really hungry and needed my protein badly, so made my dinner (a Smart Ones calzone ... really good, by the way). So my body was way out of whack on its feeding schedule. I was so tired by the time I got home. Didn't even stay up very late.

Slept til after 11 ... woke up about 9 and thought, it's much too early to get up; it was gray and gloomy out, so I went to pee and went back to bed. Scooter came to snuggle and we snoozed away. Had some really weird dreams last night ... like my niece buying things for a little girl's bedroom (she has two boys and isn't planning on more kids). Wonder if I know something she doesn't?

I'm so out of it today, although I feel well rested ... drugs really knocked me out last night (combo of vicodin, elavil and neurontin). I worked six days last week, so I guess I needed my rest. The OT is nice, but I can't do it every week. The good news is I don't think I'll be overdrawn in my checking account this week, even with a couple little surprises. And the one check that went through before it was supposed ... well, the company called back, apologized and offered to take off two interest charges, which is more than I was charged for the bounced check. That'll work!

I'm going to bake sometime this weekend ... zucchini bread if my zukes aren't too soft, blueberry muffins maybe; I have my gastric bypass cookbook recipes ... I promised my night editor I'd leave him some for bringing in the DQ (I didn't have change to pay him ... so I'll have to pay later plus I'll leave him some goodies too!)

Well, I should get to exercising too ... haven't done much this week. The last time I cycled my knee hurt a bit. I'm really tired of my knee hurting; I don't think the celebrex is helping.

Have a good day, everyone! Diva's had her coffee, too, while I'm drinking mine (I know, it's after 1 p.m. here, but I get up late.)

well thank goodness janet knew how to do this!!!!!! i tried and tried this morning and gave up!!!!

ok- so editor 2 is weird- the letters are sooo teeny!!!!i'll make them bigger so at least i can see them!!!!!

typical saturday here- started with plasma donation at 730 am (remember it is an hour away!) and a few groceries at the findlay meijers-(not all meijers has it) finally found quinoa ( a grain with protein) so am going to try some of that! will report back!also bought the pudding mix to make connie's dreamsicle recipe!

tonite we are having spaghetti squash done with some bacon and shredded swiss cheese..again- will report back! sounds yum to me!

talked to my youngest for a bit- he and his dad were on the way to go to cut the grass and check the mail etc at his house that he is trying to sell...they were driving into rain as we spoke so -but it has cleared up now....we skirted the issue of us trying to sell this place-he has questions i am sure but did not ask...

today i am going to attack the magazines--the piles the stacks and the box (huge box)---i have kept many cuz i wanted to go back to them and some very special ones and then there is just the packrat biz.....the Victorias and the Mary Englebreits i think will NOT get pitched....hey come on--i gotta keep somethin!!!!!  i have a hugamungous box of Christmas mags--i am willing to part with them...i have spent some time on the various websites about hoarding and clutter and have decided that i like the term "messies"  ...i see some tendency toward hoarding a teensy bit and i even think i know the root of some of it...however--i am still salvageable!!!!! i will overcome!!!!!!!!!!!!

now- i need to get off here and attack the mags!!!!!!!!!!

oh-the gal did NOT show again yesterday for the bird--after  4pm i finally called her- "oh i completely forgot"-she runs a friggin business--and goes out to speaking engagements! is that how she runs that????? so she says she is coming tomorrow --it is really frustrating.....he needs a new home and we need the income.

i have found a good thing about my plasma donation--they check the iron and protein each time in my blood- and so i have been searching about iron rich foods- brought it up from 40 to 49 since thursday (they won't use it if below 38 and it was tooo close for my comfort!) also the proteins are running really close to the number -7.0 is the number and i was only at 8 today-ouch! but they check BP and weight and the blood each time so i feel like i am doing something proactive!!!!and in august they are giving an extra $5.00 a week so it helps! just wish gas would go down....i know quit the bit muching! ( i like that debbie g!)

see how i procrastinate the magazines....ok--this is it...

hugs and prayers!!!

Margo:

Spinach has extra iron, so do raisins ... I've had to up my iron since year 2 of WLS cause I was low ... also, try getting the AnyWhey protein and adding it to everything. It's tasteless; I add to quick breads (like my zucchini bread and blueberry muffins). Kinda smells like Bisquick but tastes like nothing. You can add it to soups and yogurt ... hot and cold stuff.

 Hi

Hey, this works!  I've been trying to get on to post all day, but just fingured out what "Editor #2" is.

I'm still waiting for my laptop to be delivered, and was getting major withdrawal from not being able to get on line, so I sat down last night, prayed for patience and little more intelligence, and worked on the 'puter till I was able to get it to work again.  It's a first!  I managed to do what I had to, without calling tech support or a kid to help me.

I went outside today to do some weeding, but after about 2 hours, with several breaks, I decided it was too hot.  It's 94 and humid, and all that's left to do is in the sun. It's all gonna have to wait.  Gotta make some progress before next weekend, tho,  'cause I'm going to be gone Friday and Saturday to the OH conference in Pittsburgh.   If I didn't have to work for a living, I'd have plenty of time to weed....  It's supposed to rain tomorrow for most of the day.  The weeds will love it, I'm sure.

I really don't have much going on.  My life continues to bore even me.  I'll be trying to reach some of the P'burgh ladies who expressed interest in getting together next Saturday after the conference.  Gonna miss seeing Lora, though, as she'll still be on vacation.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Candy

Wow, Candy, you're right..... but I saved ya... I'm posting after you.

Tummy is still rockin' and rollin' but I'm just sore from the spasm's I think.   Only got hot tea at $4 this morning and didn't go until 10:30.  Then to the car wash AGAIN.... 3 trips in two days...but they finally got everything done. When you pay $120 to get your car detailed you want it DETAILED.

Stopped at Tom Thumb and found 4 kabobs and they were on special and marked 50% off to boot. Ended up costing me $2.50 for two.... so having friends for dinner.  I have fresh asparagus, peaches... and she's bringing fresh mushrooms, red peppers, and nectarines.  I may be cooking and not eating.  Just trying to not put anything in but liquid... waiting for the big "D" to hit.  If it doesn't, I'm homefree.  If it does, I'll be back at the hospital with an IV for dehydration... darned seaweed salad.

Wish I was surprising you in Pittsburgh.  Darn, that was fun!!

Have a safe trip and call me when you get a chance.

I so enjoy my OFF friends... they are all a little OFF.

Hello Cheryl and everyone...

It is 6:30PM and I am finally getting a moment to myself so I can check the boards. My daughters, grands and I are having so much fun!!!

They all had to go over and have birthday cake with their father/ grandfather. They didn't want to but like I said they do it for his sister's sake. The grands wanted to stay with me but I couldn't let them. They will be back in a couple hours!! As long as he has his booze he will be happy. I am sure he will have been drinking all day! He won't know who is there or care anyway. Such a waste of time!!

I am glad everyone here seems to be doing okay for the most part.

I will continue to send prayers, love, and hugs to all....connie d
