Good Morning Cheryl & OFF Family,

Last night I was really tired, so I went to bed around 10 o'clock, as a result I woke up rather early, though all things considered, I think I got about 7 hours sleep, which for me is a great nights sleep.  I've taken a shower and am going to meet up with my friend this morning, her and I will take a drive to the Shore and relax by the ocean, it's been a while since I've seen her, so I expect that she will be making a big deal of how I look, which I'm getting used to when I see people that I haven't in a long time.  It's nice to hear, but sometimes I don't want to hear it either, anyone know what I mean?

Anyway, yesterday I saw my personal trainer for the first time in over a month and she was telling me how good I look and how much I've improved overall, she also was very happy to hear my results over the 5k, tomorrow she is doing a trialthalon and I just love her, she is the sweetest and nicest girl and I am grateful to her for all her help thusfar, anyway, she worked my butt off and then I went off to the township where I picked up my package of permit stuff, there are items that need completion, so I'll hand them in next week and hopefully we'll be able to start the work in the next couple of weeks.  I so need my new bedroom and master bathroom!  LOL  The rest of yesterday found me hanging with a friend at my other friend's pool and making an AA meeting last night, then finding my way to bed as I mentioned earlier.

Well ladies and gents, I'm off to enjoy this lovely day, I hope you have a wonderful Saturday and I'll check back later!

Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

Hi Laureen,

I don't think I've told you yet how IMPRESSED I am that you did that run! I can't even imagine doing that! I might walk one but RUN??!!!! Nope.

You are so busy and your life sounds so much more interesting than mine! I am jealous of your energy and your Hair!!!! I will have to post a recent pic of my head so you all can see how pathetic it looks. All wispy and sad....it used to be my crowning glory.

Again, way to go!

Cheryl

Aww Cheryl,

Your crowning glory will grow back, and mine, it looks better than it is, as I must have lost half the hair on my head and while I've always been told I have a lot of hair, I've been told it's fine. . .  I believe it will grow back too!

Regarding the 5k, I did not run, these old bones are not made for running and I hope some day to be able to walk/jog a 5k, walking it is what I did and a year ago that would not have been possible, I am proud of it nonetheless, this is all work, but so worthwhile. . .  thanks for the compliments, as for my life, yup busy it is, winters are a lot less so, but I pack it all in the months I can ;)

Have a great day!

Hugs, Laureen

Laureen,

Walking it is still amazing. I said I "might" be able to walk one, but hmmmm....I don't know....a treadmill and an actual 5k are not even near the same effort.  The 5k sounds beyond me right now! No inclines and diffinitly not near the distance on my old treadmill. We have Blooms Day run/walk here and I didn't even try this year. Maybe next year!

I hope my hair comes back. It has decreased in how much is falling out, but still hasn't started growing back. I am going to cut it this week and try to camoflague it into looking thicker. My is fine too.

Well going by family members who've had this surgery, the hair started resurfacing at about 15 to 18 months out, but a short doo is a good thing to help camouflage the regrowth whispies that will surely crop up. . .

We are a day apart surgerywise, so I understand about the hair loss and as for the 5k, Cheryl, a 5k was not even in my thoughts until a guy from my group challenged us and told us how he went into it last year without ever thinking about the possibility and the funny thing is I remember his post after he ran that first one, he had had a heart attack at 34, 6 years later had WLS, lost 168 lbs and now has done several 5ks and even a 10k, so dream your own dream and go for it, cause I bet you will achieve whatever you put your heart to!

Hugs, Laureen

Good Morning Cheryl and all,

Posting took forever today... let's see if this works or not.

Three weeks ago my PCP put me on Fosomax to help with the bone loss. It is a once a week med and I don't like it at all. My joints are throbbing. That's one of the lovely side effects. I will give it one more week then the damned pills are going in the toilet.

Today I have to get the linens on the guest bed, make sure the room is in order and a million other things. Melanie's birthday celebration will be a week long affair of family gatherings.

Wednesday I am taking Travis and Lindsay out while Melanie and Matthew will have the company of their California Grandma Sue.

I don't know how the little ones will react to me taking the older Grand's out and leaving them home. They don't know Sue at all and are used to me taking them along. It will work (I hope) and Sue can have alone time with them.

Have a beautiful day

Annette

Sorry to hear you meds are giving you problems.  My DH was on fosomax but now he is on boniva.  He hated having to wait 30 minutes or whatever it was before he could have his morning coffe.

Before you toss you pills in the toilet (if you decide to discontinue them) you might want to check with any free clinics you might have in your area.  When I quit taking my celebrex (which is kind of pricey but my insurance covered most of the cost), I asked out local free clinic we have here if they could use my pills and they were thrilled to take them.

I was up around 4:30 it was raining out, should have gotten the laptop out but I decided to watch boring news on tv and fell asleep on the sofa and slept out here till around 7.  It is now 9 am and I am still sitting here in my jammies.

We have a picnic to go to this afternoon for my sweet granddaughter, she turned two yesterday.

Wow, I had to go to Editor #2 to post.  How wierd is that?  What's happening with OH this morning?

Okay, 'nuther thing I can't eat EVER.... seaweed salad.  I've had colitis all night.  I've spasmed till I'm tired.  Growling this morning, but so far so good.

My scalp is dry and my hair is dry.

I've gained about six lbs.

Some days life just Sucks.
