I've been surplussed
She is trying to appeal the decision, but it seems pretty hopeless to me. While I will not be unemployed, there is no telling to what hellhole I'll be transferred.
After some very crappy jobs in this system, I had finally landed a job at a school with great administrators, teachers and students. My plan was to retire from here in 2014.
Now the cheese has been moved and I must rise to the challenge, grateful that at least I will still have a job.
Like the Brits said during WWII, Relax and Carry On. (Easier said than done)
I'm so sorry you will be transferred but at least you still have a job. Doesn't help how your feeling right now though does it. Hugs my friend.
New challenges will be around the bend for you. Isn't it wonderful when you have wonderful admins., teachers and students? Let's hope your next assignment will be great for you.
My son in law who is a teacher is looking for another job, his principle hated him and basically told him to resign and if he did that he would write a letter of recommendation. He nixed that when my SIL asked him for the recommendation. All the while parents and students are upset he has to leave and went to the Superintendent. This principle is not well liked by anyone. My SIL is also a coach so he loves what he does and the kids. Guess what? This principle announced yesterday he is retiring. Game play big time on his part.
Now my SIL is taking back his resignation and will fight for his job.
Sigh...and the world turns!
I'm hoping for great things and you will even have a better place to be. Hugs- Debbie
Thanks for the advice about new opportunities, it hit home. My whole life has been one of constant change, most times for the best, so I will trust the universe once again to steer me in the right direction.
Hugs,
Maria

I'm sending good vibes your way that you'll land somewhere with even better administrators, etc...
Best wishes!
At my school we are losing many teachers and the ones being shuffled (like you) are coming here. It's putting everyone on edge, including the custodial staff who are getting a lot of extra moving tasks. It's the worst year in my 30 years of teaching... makes me seriously consider retiring too. Hang in... maybe you'll find a new best friend at your new place!
