No, not fat.  You may just be gaining that little bit that they say we all regain.  Don't you think?

I can sure relate to all the posts here. I just got back from WalMart and tried on 6 yes 6.......yes I did say 6 swimming suits. I only bought one. I still have a lot of weight to lose but I am down 80 lbs.  I can't see it myself when I look in the mirror.  I know I drive my DH and daughter crazy when I say that.   I can now kind of understand people that are aneroxic and they can't see how skinny they are......I can't see when I look in a mirror that I have lost weight. But my clothes show it. My slacks went from a very tight 4x to 1x......and my tops are size large.  I saw a picture of me and my sister taken at the water park last week.  I was amazed...I am actually smaller in the butt then my sister.  I haven't been like that since grade school. I did go to the water park, that was another first for me.  I kept a towel wrapped around me till I got in the water.... My DH took our picture it was from the back view of both of us standing in the water.

Way to go girl. I, too, have that keeping the towel wrapped tight until I get into the water.  But, the difference now and years ago, the towel goes around me. LOL

Jeannie, you make me laugh!  Do you think they might have layaway?  Sounds like that skirt might be great for the fall when you go back to work. I'm getting better about recognizing my size as it is.  At least when I hold up a pair of pants or a top I can KIND of tell  if it will fit or not. Gary still has to answer the "am I her size?" question now and then, but not as often as 6 months ago or so. Our bariatric coordinator says it takes about 2 years for mind/body to agree with each other. Hmmmm

I think that question, "am I her size," will never leave me.  It's not that I am being petty, not at all, it's I need to get a mind visual of me.  It's sad but true that we all go through this.

It is really hard.  I've even had Gary take pictures of me standing next to my teenage nieces who are the same size as me, only taller and MUCH younger   LOL. But, it at least gives me a point of reference as to my size. Maybe the better question to as is   "is SHE MY size?".  Off to work, have a happy one

Aloha Jeannie.......woman of laughter, fun stories and color!

You always bring a smile, or even a belly laugh in the morning...and start my day with such a good feeling. I LOVE your wow stories...and they are WOW's...each and every one of them.

The distorted body image thing is still very much with me. When I was in Calif. for my 3rd grandbaby's birth, my son and DIL in gave me a "dresser" and $100 to spend at Nordstroms....fancy store where I would NEVER shop ... too expensive. Well, this lady comes into the dressing room with clothes for me to try on. She brings in 12's, 14's. Jeans. Both sizes too big! What??? She brings in 10's....too big! No way! She brings in 8's!! THEY FIT!! I paid $98 for a black pair of size 8 jeans!! Never wore 8's in my life....not even when I was skinny back in high school. I may not be able to wear these 8's for long, and when I can't, I'll have them bronzed and will hang them on my wall! Ha!

Thanks for bringing back such a happy memory. I think I'll wear those size 8's to work today!!

Welcome back my friend!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen
