Sorry to be a Wow hog but...WOW!!!!
Hi all!
At first I wasn't gonna post this but then I wanted to then I didn't but now I am!
First, I am always early to work by about 15-20 min. Today, first wow, I was walking on my treadmill watching a DVD, this mrning after talking to you all on here, and before I knew it, an hour had gone by instead of my 1/2 hour and I was Late! I would have NEVER accidentally walked an extra 1/2 hour in my life before WLS. I had to be at work on time for a health screening thingy. Of course the day I have to be on time, I am not.
Next, I rushed around, drove to work, and we have to park so far away that I had to park about 3 blocks away....so I RAN all the way to the building...ran...with my purse, my huge carryall bag and my coffee mug. Now, I'm not saying it was a pretty sight or a graceful run..but hey! I ran! I NEVER run...and I didn't sweat or wheeze. I have severe asthma. So....
Then my last wow, I got to the scheduled health screening appointment at work a bit late but got there, and got weighed, measured and poked. They told me all my numbers were PERFECT!!!! Really good! (my BMI was still too high but, hey...not as high as it was!) I was sooooo excited! I wanted to yell it out!!!!! "MY CHOLESTEROL AND BLOOD PRESSURE IS PERFECT!!!!!" but I didn't.
The lady was quite impressed with this old gal! So was I!
So, thank you for being here so I could yell it out!
"MY CHOLESTEROL AND BLOOD PRESSURE IS PERFECT!!!!!" (or is that are perfect?)
Thanks for all of your support and words and wisdom!
Cheryl

You have a right to yell it out, so do it! Hey, I'm surprised the health screener didn't tell you your BMi wasn't normal. I got told that this year that I was "overweight" ... I told her I used to be super morbidly obese and used to weigh 347 pounds ... so lay off of me, lady! (no, I didn't say those last few words ... just thought them). I am happily overweight, thank you very much!
Your wow moments are great. I couldn't have run like you did ... probably never will, not on my knees. I am proud you can. You can run for me.
Thanks, Eileen,
We have a bunch of construction workers I had to run by...they are putting up a new wing on our building....I'm sure they wonder what that silly short lady was galloping around for....I know I won't be running on a regular basis, but with my asthma I never even consider it, so yesterday was sooooo cool to find myself running.....
Take Care,
Cheryl

Thanks Millie,
Next time I try to do a short jog, I will need to do something about the girls...as that was throwing me off balance...along with all the crap I was carrying...prob will stick to walking the treadmill....
Take Care,
Cheryl

Thanks, Annette,
It was weird to be doing any kind of exercise activity and not ticking away the seconds I had left to do before I collapsed that is for sure...
I also have been doing the treadmill after work instead of laying on my bed...not everyday...but often and it really helps me get energy back after work so I can do a little scrapbooking or other chores around the house so I don't feel like such a lazy lump...
Take Care and thanks again,
Cheryl
