Hiya Cheryl, I too get frustrated as my weight loss has slowed, but I still lose...just very slowly, and then I have a med that puts 10 pounds on me, and I take them back off. I have a bum leg, so my balance is not great, but honest to heavens, I weighed 3 times once within 20 minutes and got 3 different weights. I have come so far, as have you...we gotta remember that for sure. Huge hug to you!!

Linda, I'm so happy you didn't kick the bucket, we need you, love you, and would miss you terribly!  Congrats on the bonus.  Bonus, heck, what's that, I'm lucky to ever hear "good job".  It's very depressing to hear almost nothing but criticism for the least little things, and never hear anything when you manage to save the dept $$$. Still not feeling well, if anything, I feel worse.  I will be on that plane Sat. if I have to crawl.  I'm going to DW even if I have to spend the entire week in the camper.  I'm getting the H3LL out of here! B - protein shake S -protein shake L - 1/2 a chicken breast baked with Vidalia onions, black olives, thin lemon slices, and herbs, and some leftover eggplant  (if I think it will stay down). S -  protein shake or cheese D - baked fish covered with Vidalia onions and garlic sauteed in a tiny bit of olive oil and butter, and some veggie S - protein shake or ham and cheese roll up. Lots and lots of water, hot tea, light cranberry juice, and coffee (half reg. and half decaf) Debbie

I am going to try and do better today in the food department.  Yesterday, I ate way too many fruits and today I am running back and forth to the bathroom.  I did, however, stick to my main menu of the soup and cheese and crackers thing, but, in between, I ate a cup of melon and pineapple, and later a tomato slice in cottage cheese and I am staying close to the bathroom.

So, for today: Breakfast, 1 cup of coffee and I packet of cream of wheat with splenda and butter.  Lunch peanut butter on a slice of toast.  snack I protein shake for Jan and for supper a chicken thigh, green beans and for late snack another shake.  Okay, there. I posted my nutrition for today and I just hope I stick to the protein shakes.

lol good girl Jeanie..... everything i read in nutrition says that because of the malabsorbtion that we would have to eat about 200 grams of protein to get out of it what we need in a days time. since there is no way we can eat that much quanity i stick with 2 to 3 protein drinks a day. I mix it with fruit flavored water about 5 oz so i can gulp it down quickly. that way i have about 80 grams of protein in a days time even if what else i eat is very minimal. I usually have  B protein shake snack-- 2 slices of bacon, dried with paper towel to get off all all all the grease lunch- protein drink  snack- string cheese or brick cheddar cheese 1oz supper what ever i fix Joe only just the protein and small helping of the green veggie snack protein drink  sometimes during the day i will have a protein bar. i like the Pure Protein Smores

Good Morning Linda and OFF crowd,!! Congrat's on your work achievement, Linda!!   Cheryl, you can probably find sugar free peanut butter (or other nut "butters") in a health food store, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, or the Health Food (or whatever they call it) aisle in your chain supermarket. Maybe even with the regular peanut butter.  I myself love PB mixed with hot cereal, such as Cream of Wheat, Cream of Rice or Oatmeal. I have a funny story to share:  When I reached my full height as a teenager, I was between 5'6" and 5'7".  So....when I had all my measurements taken at my first visit at my Surgeon's office last January, I was SHOCKED to hear that I was "Just under 5'6""  WHAT????    I'M SHRINKING ALREADY???? I'M ONLY 51!!!  I'm thinking because of my osteoarthritis in my spine.  But wow.  What a crazy thing.   My food plans for today are:  A high protien breakfast bar, some cold grilled cubed chicken breast (a little less than a cup), a V-8, and total 1 cup Greek Yogurt mixed with Lowfat Stoneyfield Farms Strawberry Yogurt (found the big container at Trader Joe's).  Dinner:  haven't thought that far ahead yet.  Last night it was some granola mixed with same yogurt as described above.  I'm going to walk 30 minutes at lunch today, a nice day in Chicago...not too hot or HUMID.   (I'm having too much fun with these smilies, lol) Oh, and I'm having my 3rd fill tomorrow.  Have a grrrreat day everyone!! And remember:  "The Fountain of Youth is Just a State of Mind." ~Mary

PS....Debbie...I hear ya about not enough, or no, positive feedback at work.  I honestly think some management people just think that no bad news is good news, or something like that.  I think all management people should go and take a refresher course on inter-office management skills. And then there's the bosses from other departments who don't even know what the heck I do.  So sometimes when I'm in a "mood" and the opportunity presents itself I just have to toot my own horn, as it were. Have a good vacation!

Hey Mary -- our Chicago girl! I used to live in Des Plaines many many moons ago!

Don't want to burst your bubble, however, in school I was always the tallest girl in class at 5'7".....now at 69 1/2 yrs. old, I measure 5'3" -- what the heck happened to those four inches.....sure would like to have them back my BMI would be a whole lot better!!! LOL
Yeah, I've had both knees replaced and the R hip, and have osteoarthritis in my spine.

Glad to see you on the OFF board!

Thank you Pat!  Des Plaines is still alive and thriving!   I love how you say 69 1/2 years old.  I am actually 51 1/2 years old as of 5/20.  I think in Indian and some other South Asian Culture, they say "running 52" during age 51, for example.   I still can't wrap my mind around having lost 1/2 an inch or whatever.   Have a good day!
