An update from the faceless person

Here is an update on me. 

I am still writing my dissertation, which by the way is almost done, but I have been given a four year fellowship and assistantship, so I’ll drag this out as long as I can so I can get the easy money.  (And, according to my dissertation advisors, I can now be called Dr.  But, I am not going there because it seems weird.) The fellowship and assistantship will all stop as soon as I turn in the dissertation so I'll use this time to submit articles for publication and hopefully, when I'm ready to join the real world of academia, I'll be close to tenureship.

I’ve taken my oral and written comps and other than teaching and taking extra classes, I’m a free bird. A free bird who can sit in booths, buy clothes anywhere, walk forever, and sit in the seats in the theater and get gazed at by men other than hubby, not that I’m looking. LOL. 

I hope that I'll be able to post more as time goes on.  If you guys have noticed, I've taken my profile off and that's because and it could be my fault, but I was getting some weird comments and emails, so I closed it, putting a stop to the weird man from messing with me.  Or weird woman acting like a weird man.  Haha, weird man. LOL

Nice to hear from you Dr.Jeannie........Congrats on all your hard work, both physically and mentally. I knowe we had our surgeries a couple of days apart...so you have always been my partner. Hope all is well with your grandbabies and children. It is good some of the intense pressure is off of you for awhile. We did plop our butts on the loser bench together.  There were a bunch of us that yer and I loved the board.  I think of all the questions that these gals have answered and even though I asked my surgeon, he had not had the wls and was not a woman in her fifties.  So, like everyone else, this board became my lifeline.  It is sure good to see you when I do drop in.  I am going to try and become more active. 

The grandchildren are fine and I see them regularly.  Son is having his first--due in October.  My daughter has been working hard to stay off the hard drugs and has her slips. 

How is your family doing?

Thanks.  I hope to have time to post on a regular basis but who knows what tomorrow holds.  Since I am physically active, hubby and I are on the go constantly.  Plus, I found a new stream where I can search for rocks.  Hope you are doing well. 

Hello Jeannie....nice to hear from you again. As for the DR. tile...use it ...you earned it!!!  Congrats!!!!!  All your hard work has paid off!! Hope we see(?) more of you now. Sorry to hear about the  stalker he/she. Some people are so stupid!! Hugs.....connie d

I probably will turn it back on but I want to make sure the person is finished with his/her games. LOL.  My coworkers call me Dr. and my students and every time they do, I look behind me.  Isn't that funny?

Girl, My face is so sunken in.  I was hoping it would fill out, but so far not.  I am still losing but not in ten pound increments. LOL.  But,like others, I take what I can get.  I am still a walkoholic and have added aerobics to the mix. 

Good to be back and I'll try and stay in touch.

Hello Stranger, You, Marti and I have been sitting cheek to cheek on that bench for a long time. It feels like a life time ago that we were anticipating our surgeries. You have squeezed so many accomplishments into a short amount of time. Congratulations.  It was good to hear from you again. Annette
