Good afternoon all!  Wow, so many posts, I have missed so much. Today has been such a busy day from the start, running errands and everytime I go to post  the hubby needs my help. Just got back from a trip to Menards to pick up the floor trim. Hopefully now I can go back an read all I've missed. I am glad the long weekend is over as it seems like it was constant busyness! I need a nap I feel cranky today! oh well, tomorrow will be better. Have a great what is left of the day! Paulette

Hi Lora and everybody: So here I am, bringing up the rear again. I'm a slow walker and a slow waker. Actually, I was up at 9, but I had an appointment this morning and by the time I got home, it was 1, time for lunch, then a nap and then off to work. So here I am at work, waiting for something to do. So while I wait, I'll chat with y'all. Met with my therapist this morning; nice chat, nothing overly revealing. Much less stressful than the previous two meeting when I was crying a lot ... a lot of my stress was over finances, and while those problems haven't totally been alleviated, they are much less worse now, I've worked out some solutions. I still don't have much money, but at least I have some solutions. And sometime soon, I'll get $50 a week more in my paycheck, because the bankruptcy court approved my new budget ... yeay! Just don't know exactly when that will happen. We had some storms late last night and this morning ... when I was driving home from my appointment, it just poured so hard I could barely see. And then these other drivers kept passing me, so then I really couldn't see ... and they didn't have their lights on, either. I was happy just to get in the garage and be safe and dry.  Laureen, I had to laugh when you said you felt bad you didn't get to the gym ... other than the 5K ... what, that doesn't count? Wow, if I had done a 5K on Friday, I don't think I'd do anything else for the rest of the weekend! You have too much energy for all of us combined, girl! I've got to meet you and see if you can bottle some of that and give it to me. Annette, the molten lava cake sounds yummy ... they had those on the cruise ... but they were tiny and I ate about a half of one ... yum! Judy, hang in there and keep looking, something's bound to come along. I take it this is the first time you've been so far away from your mom? My mom is like that all the time, and I have a job. Get used to it. Kathi, I'd like to echo the others about the stall ... you will have plenty more of them in your journey. Just stay on the right path and the weight will come off. Good luck on convincing work to give you extra time off ...hope they are as nice as my employer (my boss wanted to give me six weeks because a friend of his had WLS ... open ... and needed that long to recuperate ... and my boss is a nice guy anyway). Well, I guess I should see if there's anything to do. Hope everyone has a good day.

hey eileen...i am trying so hard to find a job its crazy!!! yes this is the furthest i have been away from my mom and family...but i love it here!!!! if she would come for a visit like we wanted her to she would see why i love it here!!! maybe she will come later on this summer if lori will drive her and my sister here...mom and sister can't drive far without getting lost lol

i made an appointment at the vet for wednesday moring so will find out then if i can feed the cats pumpkin and yogurt. i also called the cat food company to see if any thing was ever reported in cats getting sick but they said no and they are sending me an envelope to send in sample of the food for testing. so we will find out what it is if its the food or not. just baffles us as to why they got so sick.

i saw that you were getting the storms again today!!! wow!!!!! we should be getting them tomorrow afternoon here they said. yippeee i love storms but not when i am home alone....lol

will keep in touch with you on the cat deal...thanks again for the info!!!

I don't mind storms if I'm home and don't have to go out in them ... hate leaving the cats, though, when we're having storms, just in case something should happen (like a tornado) and I wouldn't be there to take care of them.  Yeah, my mom wouldn't come up here by herself. She did come out to Montana with my Aunt Jo (her sister), to South Dakota and Georgia with Aunt Bernice (SIL), and here with my brother and his wife. She's too old to drive on the highway by herself. She'd get lost through the tangle of interstates (and really, we don't want her driving anywhere but the familiar streets of Franklin Park ... less chance of an accident and harming someone, including herself). She flew out to all those other places I lived, though. She did OK doing that, but she doesn't travel anymore.

HI Lora and Friends,

How can too tiny little girls absolutely whip my hiney????? I am absolutely exhausted! Went to bed about 9pm, took Maggie out at 3am went back to bed until almost 8am. That is LATE for me! I have a tiny little stacking washer and dryer here in the apartment. Took most of the day to get our laundry caught up from the long weekend. If not careful it gets overloaded and then won't spin dry enough. . . I will love getting mine back in the fall. Grocery shopped, stopped at the fresh fruit and produce  stand that is open now. Asparagras, local corn, cucumbers. Just another week or two and we'll have tomatoes. BLTs, fresh corn, cottage cheese and tomatoes. One of my favorite meals!

Made a bunch of appointments today: dermatologist to get yearly skin check, haircuts for me and Maggie, physical with my PCP which was due in May, but hey it has been a bit busy around here. My PCP used to see me 4 times a year; now just wants to see me yearly to check my cholesterol and thyroid. She is amazed each time she checks my lab work. (so am I!)

Temp is headed towards 100 again tomorrow. I need to start taking advantage of the early morning for walking and using the apartment pool. Kids are rarely in it in the morning so it would be great time to get a bit of sun and relaxation. There is a spa and I really miss our hot tub.

Nothing started on the house today. I was just sure we'd see insulating going on today.  Hurry up and. . . . wait. I don't wait well.

Gotta get. Hope you all have a good one.

Karen C
