Good morning to all of my OFF family, brothers and sister alike. I hope that today is filled with nothing but happiness for all of you. You all deserve nothiing less! Today is a rest day for me. I have been soooo busy the last 2 days. I am so tired this morning and I was going to go to church but when I got up and was so sore and tired I thought that I just have to stay home since I am going to working up at the church office again this week.  Friday was a fun day for us. We went to my cousins house and shared the whole day with their families. It was so nice. We had Aunt Virginia and Uncle Bob and their kids and grands and great grands. It was busy but so nice. When Bill and I was driving home late Friday evening we got to talking and I told him how my family always got together and had a good time. We all got together for holidays and just for nothing at all. That was the Tucker family~a close and loving family. I told Bill that all of my cousins and their families are so close. Then there is me~my sister never wants to do anything with me and my neice and her daughter is so involved with their lives (and that is good to an extent but not to the point of putting something or someone before your family~my opinion!) and most of the time it feels like it just me. That I have no family and that makes me sad. I am happy having Bill's family but they are very different than my family ever was and sometimes it is hard to get involved with them. My cousins told me that if they have a family get together they are going to ask me since we are family but I hate to intrude on things all the time. It was so much fun catching up on everyone.  Yesterday we went to the parade for the town of Porter. I grew up in Chesterton and Porter and it is still home to me even though I have lived in the city of Portage for almost 28 years. Porter is 150 years old and they had their sequicentennial function this weekend. The parade was nice. Most eveyone that it was not that great but I have been looking so forward to the whole thing nothing but good was all I saw. haha After the parade we went to the park and they had vendors there. I enjoyed that. I looked and bouht and looked some more. Then after we left the park we went to the Westchester Township Historical Museum. I so enjoyed that. While I was looking my cousin told them that we were the grandchildren of Tom Tucker and they said that were decendense of him and to make sure that we put it in the guest book. I never heard it and so it didn't get done. None of us did and there was 3 of us. I saw pictures of my grandpa and their house that went down in the tornado of 1948. I saw pictures of my old schools which are now torn down and are libraries now. I got to see pictures of my old neighbor before her marriage. Thw whole thing was so much fun. I would like to get involved with that Historical Society I think. I have thought about that for a long time. It brought back a lot of memories and they were all good. No bad ones came in. Other than I just miss everyone so much. Gotta get on another subject since I am now starting with the waterworks.  Bill is cooking out again today. He wants to make double bacon cheeseburgers. I have no buns or bacon for that matter. haha I guess one of us going to have to go to the store. Ugh! I will eat the bacon cheeseburger with out a bun and maybe not as much as Bill. It is funny~I use to eat him under the table but those days are loooong gone now. haha I would like to make some special veggies to go along with the meat. I love it when he grills the vidalia onions on the grill. OMG! They turn out soooo good. I have to fix those for him to do. Oh no! Now I am getting hungry! But then again I haven't had breakfast yet. Helllllooooooooo! Why am I not eating if I am hungry???? The day is sunny and nice here. I am not sure what is the temp outside but Bill go up during the night and shut the windows and put on the air conditioner. He gets so hot and  I told him that if he would stop wearing his sweats to bed he would be comfortable like I am. But no~we have to sleep in sweats and get hot flashes! Men~who can figure them out and *****ally wants to?  I guess I had better get going. I am sending love and hugs to everyone and prayers are going up for all, with special ones going up for those in need of them Have a wonderful day~enjoy your life and the lives of those you love.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Happy Sunday, Annette, and Everyone, Quiet day today I think for us.  Hubby isn't feeling great.  I think it's a combination of eating Lasagna and Chinese Food in the same day.....  Men. Went shopping yesterday in search of black pants that fit.  Found some!  Great day in the mornin' they are 3 sizes smaller.  Yahoo.....  But now I have 3 pair of pants that fit for work.  Don't need any more than that... I'm sick of protein but yesterday I got 107 grams of protein in.  If that doesn't raise my protein levels, then let them be low.  Got to spend some time with our little grandson yesterday.  2 1/2 is a great age.  He's so active all the time.  He frustrates his parents which is exactly what he should be doing.  I love to watch that.  Payback and all....... Hope everybody has a great Sunday! Hugs, Kathi

Hubby is finishing up laying the new subfloor in the master bedrm, so I'm getting out of Dodge!! Tuesday the new carpet is being installed so tues night we can sleep back in our own bedroom!! yipeee!! The guest bedroom is on the front of the house and I never realized how much you can hear the street noise in there at night. The master is in the back of the house so it's real quiet, I sleep much better there. I hope you all have a happy sunday! Hugs, Paulette

Only thought I have Judy, and you might want to ask the vet about this, but she might need some extra fiber in her diet, or she might need some probiotics because of the antibiotics she's taking (just like we do when we get yeast infections after taking antibiotics) ... for the fiber, try pumpkin (canned pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling, but the canned pumpkin) ... for the probiotics, try some yogurt ... just plain yogurt, no flavor, not even vanilla ... But like I said, ask the vet first. I had to do this with my now deceased cat, Cinnamon, when he was diagnosed with chronic renal failure and on some meds, and that 's what my vet suggested when he got the runs. He didn't like either of them (pumpkin or yogurt) but you can try it and see if the cat will eat it.

Good Sunday afternoon everyone!  YES it is really Sunday now!  I have had an incredibly lazy morning.  I think I have worked my butt off so much the past few days it all caught up with me!  Up at 6 to let dogs out, feed them and sipped some tea.  dozed in chair, ate breakfast suddenly felt terrible and laid down on couch, slept for a few more hours (was cold too and wrapped up in a shawl and a fleece blanket, and 2 dogs) woke up hot after 12 noon!  now feeling a bit better and have to get cleaned up and dressed to go to funeral home for my sister in laws mother who passed suddenly (2 weeks after her husband).  wasn't feeling well, went to hospital, tests found huge pancreatic tumor-inoperable they were going to put her into hospice and she had a heart attack.  go figure.  Anyway, my neice and nephew (8 and 10) have now lost grandma and granda in 2 weeks.  I feel for the kids, they are probably upset and confused.  I must say however my brother and his wife are very good with them,m so hopefully they are helping them thru this inspite of their pain.  Her father and his GF are still alive and my parents are still alive, they had 3 sets of grandparents.  They were closest to this set since they lived right down there near them,  Since it is 1:15 now and I had a cuppa chai, guess it is time to get busy getting ready and perhaps drink some protein.  tummy still upset.  can't figure out why the past 3 weeks have been like this......up and down!  Oh well.  This Thurday I have the hammer toes fixed and looking forward to getting rid of that pain!  LOL  Have a good Sunday all busy week ahead!  August is vacation time for me and even though I am not going anyplace, look forward to vegging out at home!

Good day all!            Hello  AHHHHHHHH.....My boys (DH & DS) left for Scout camp and I am alone for the week.  Wish I was feeling better and the  recuperation from my surgery last Sunday was a bit quicker.  Plan to start walking again tomorrow morning.  Probably won't do 5-6 miles, but I think anything is better than nothing! Hopefully it will speed up the recovery.                       Boy Scouts       Camp Fire                  Walking 2  I am going to laze today, maybe a load or two of laundry and figure out the week. I have a couple Doctors' appointments for follow-up from the surgery, and look forward to seeing Mary (she graciously offered to drive me there).  Hope I can wear regular pants/jeans since my belly is still pretty swollen and I got rid of all my larger sizes.                                                    Recliner  Well I wish you all a super Sunday and again thanks to all who sent me thoughtful birthday wishes yesterday!                                                   Kisses  Hugs,  Lora

Hi Annette and everyone: Well, look at this, I'm the last one here again. I was going to get on here earlier, but my mom called about noonish, and that kept me off; then I called my brother about 1 or so and started exercising (riding my little exercycle), then the Sox game came on and I didn't want to leave the TV while that was on ... so there you are! Now that's over, so I'm on the computer. By the way, the Sox won 4-3, so they split their four-game series with the Oakland A's and still stay in first place in the AL Central ... I know, there's not a lot of baseball fans here. But I'm excited. They almost blew it, though. It got a little too exciting at the end for me. Well, I worked last night ... it was the easiest 5 hours of OT I've ever done. I did one photo page (put five photos on the page, wrote captions and a headline, read one story and wrote a headline for that) ... that was it. Then I proofed everyone else's pages to take some of the load off from them. Then I sat and read my magazine. Boy, was it easy. The night crew also ordered Chinese food, so I did too ... had leftovers today for lunch, but my cashew shrimp only had two shrimp left it, so I added some chicken from the rotiserrie chicken I had in the frig to get some more protein in it. So that meant there were only six shrimp in that container ... a little lacking in protein in there, doncha think? Today, I got a little busy to start the day, stripped the bed and washed my sheets and put fresh on, a fresh comforter, did laundry; I also plan to dump at least one litter box completely, maybe two (they are getting very bad --phew!) Otherwise, just reading my magazines, may start a new book. Finished reading "A Thousand Splendid  Suns" ... by the guy who wrote "The Kite Runner" .. excellent book! Finished it in less than a week, and that's pretty good considering that when I come from work I don't feel like reading anything because my eyes are sore from reading so much at work. Laureen, I guess I will have to look and see how you did  ... I was wondering about that last night and I kept checking while I was at work, but you must have posted after I left (which was about 9:30 or so). Congrats anyway on finishing ... more than I would be able to do ... I can't even walk a mile, so your accomplishment is wonderful and something to be celebrated.  Annette, if I have company over, the only one greeting anyone is Diva ... the others are under the bed until they know if they recognize the person ... then Nettie will come out maybe ... Scooter will sit on the bed if he knows the person is Gayle, my cat sitter, because he likes her (she calls him Mr. Scooter ... a sure sign of respect), but he won't come  out for anyone else. Diva, on the other hand, especially likes men ... she is a real flirt. Whenever there is a repairman here for something ... the cable, etc., she is all over them. She really lives up to her name. Mickey, good to see you back again! You look great. Well, I guess those litter boxes won't clean themselves. Got to get to them. Have a good night.
