The furbrats slept very well last night. They were tired from all their socializing yesterday. People never get used to the sight of being greeted at the door by our 8 black beauties. There is no shy cat in this household. Nicky adores my brother and immediately jumps into his lap. The odd thing is that Nicky is never a lap cat with us, only with my brother. Tony is immediately on his back expecting a belly rub. Joey tends to check each person, then give an occasional whack if the person doesn't pass his personal test. We haven't figured out who will be his target.Annie shows off her climbing skills and runs up and down the cat tree. Isabella escorts everyone to the bathroom. She doesn't believe in privacy. The others are less obnoxious and just rub legs. We have no plans for today - yet.  Have a good one. Annette

Good Morning Annette and Friends,

Still dark here in Chehalis, WA.  Fireworks kept us awake until late last night again. Where we live in eastern WA most fireworks are banned because of fire danger. It's so dry in our corner of the state that is doesn't take much to start a fire. Here in the southeastern part of the state there is plenty of rain. Erin and Josh live out in the country in a small subdivision with lots of children (and dads who are fireworks fans!) so the past 2 nights have kept kids, parents, grannies, and pets awake! It has sounded like we're in the middle of a rocket attack!

We'll head home about noon today. We've had a wonderful visit full of smiles and cuddles but we're worn out! I'll be back over about the last week of July to help Erin out while Josh is in Oregon with his high school football team at camp. Erin began work last week. She works from home 4 days a week and will start her one long day in Seattle this week. She has to leave about 4am and returns about 8pm. I know she'll miss her babies, but all in all she's quite lucky to have this job.  She is an accountant for the University and telecommutes 4 days per week.

Josh will be here most of the time until mid August when his football practices start up. Looks like he may get a 6th grade teaching contract. Keep your fingers crossed. They thought about having him stay home and Mr. Mom with Erin this year rather than substitute teach. However, this position has come up and we're hoping it is offered. I think it would be good for him even tho he's a wonderful father. I know they would never regret the time here with the girls.  These little girls are each over 11 lbs now! Amazing when we look of the pics of them 3 months ago!

This promises to be an exciting week at home with the house construction. Insulation and sheetrocking will take place. Not sure what else.  Seems like everything goes in spurts. Hurry up and then wait. Much like life in general!

I'm recommitting to my exercise program. I'm up by 5am each morning. There is absolutely NO reason for me to not get in a nice long, brisk walk each morning. No reason except procrastination and laziness! I love early summer mornings so what's my problem????

Wishing you all a glorious July morning wherever you are and whatever it is doing in your corner of the world.

I am with you about the beautiful early summer mornings. Today is a gorgeous morning Everyone is sleeping and I am about ready to get in the shower and get ready for the Nolan's Christening at 10:15 [It is 6:30 am here in Madison].  Erin is lucky to be able to work from home...BUT I am sure it is challenging with the twins demanding her time also. She has a tough few years ahead of her. I am sure she appreciates your visits to help out. Yesterday I was just trying to get some gifts wrapped and little Nolan did not want to cooperate...he just wanted to be held....so I held him and sang to him. He loves it. I have a song I made up years ago about a Puffin [ a little penguin type bird] and sang it to my kids and they were always a sucker about it.  I was singing it to him as I walked around with Nolan and everyone was busy getting ready for the big "Kids Carnival" ...Kathleen, who was working in the kitchen,  said " I don't know Mom if you should sing that around me today....I am getting an overwhelming desire to go to sleep" LOL The Kid's Carnival/Birthday party was great. And a bunch of us finished the evening sitting around the fire in the backyard, after the babies went to sleep and the 5-7 year olds were playing with the new Wii game I got for Owen for his birthday. [ it is an interactive game about all terrain vehicles] It was nice to kind of wind down and sit around and have adult talk. Well, I had better get moving, it is easy to spend a half hour on here with you guys...it is gone in a flash. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning.... I will continue packing today... made a pretty good dent in it yesterday.... I am looking forward to getting the hell outta here though... too many barking dogs and noisy people... funny but (funny butt??) just moving about a mile away and it's like I changed planets... no dogs barking, no noise at all... hopefully this isn't an illusion... Oh well, committed to it now however it works out... I know there is a large garage for me to open up shop again... that keeps me motivated! Have a great day y'all <----- (southern word I picked up after being here for a few years)

Marc, With lots of family in the South I thought "y'all" was good for one or many. . . until Dallas last October. There I learned the plural form "All y'all!" which I love using whenever I get a chance! I don't envy your move just having finished one and with the final one to our new home  still a few months down the road. That one will involve emptying out 3 storage units much of which I will probably be wondering what in the heck I wasted money storing!!

Good Morning All! The weather here is overcast, so today finds me finishing laundry, straightening things up, ironing clothing for the work week, food preparation and when all that is done I will go visit with my friend for the rest of today, there will be a bunch of us gathering there later this afternoon for some conversation before heading to Sunday night's AA meeting. Hope you all have a wonderful day! Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

Good Morning Annette and all, It is a lovely Sunday morning out on the porch. I love it. We still have the Stop/street sign lying in our yard. Tom painted the huge bare spot on the tree and we are hoping it doesn't die. It is a big old chestnut tree. Woke up several times last night with people yelling, shooting off fireworks. They are illegal here in Spokane. Tom's band is playing for the service today at church so I will get ready in a bit and go to that. Otherwise, not much planned. It's weird, yesterday I posted in about the first 1/3 of everyone and still ended up at the bottom. Can't figure this computer out. I have also tried to download the smiley's on my Apple but apparently Apple doesn't do the smiley's. I too love being up in the morning and getting to see everything wake up and start the day. Not at 3:30 am though. 5 is early enogh for me. Take care all, Cheryl
