What's new Sunday July 5, 2008?
Good Afternoon Debbie and All,
Not the first time this weekend that I've lost a day. Today has felt like Sunday all day to me too!
I've popped in and out a few times today commenting and reading without really posting. That's what I love about the What's New thread. When something connects with one of us or someone is having an "issue" and shares it, it sometimes rings true for another of us or causes us to pause and reflect on our own challenges. I think Annette's sharing today did just that for many of us. As we reply to one another, it causes us to think about things that we still need to work on. A reminder that we are all human and are working towards a whole, well body, as healthy as we can make it. We will not reach perfection as we are human , but we can continue to strive towards that goal. Sometimes I think I am afraid of success. The attainment of a goal has always been soon followed by a relapse. Perhaps that is why I am stalling right now. However, a stall for me usually is followed by a slip backwards which I have done recently too.
We're warned in this journey about switching addictions. It can take so many forms can't it? Shopping, gambling, drinking, smoking, other eating disorders. . . to name just a few. I keep vowing to make exercising my addiction. That has slipped also. Sure need to get back to it. Just so many distractions right now.
Speaking of which, one of them, Hannah Nicole is exercising her lungs right now! Later. .

Happy 4th, 5th, 6th...whatever! I'm really alive and well, so to speak. I did find a zipline in New England by the way. Wonderful and fun...and ever so much safer than the one in Chile! Lincoln, NH is the location.
Have any of you had your calcium heart score done via the Super Scanner? Well, I did this past week. After my mom's sudden heart attack I just had to know what kinda shape my ticker is in. My pacemaker wires obstructed the view of the right side of my heart, but the left was easily read, so the report says. Apparently, I fall in the 85th %-tile...meaning only 15% of y'all in my age group (56-60) have more calcium/plaque in your cardiac arteries than I do. Whoa! If anything was gonna get me to add in another couple thousand steps a day that'll do it. Am really looking forward to going over these results with my internist and cardiologist? Yep! Was I in error by trying to know? I don't think so...at least it gives me a heads up re: any possible symptoms. Of course it also might prompt me to run to the ER every other day....nope, don't think so. Hope you all had a fun weekend. I really enjoyed having my granddaughter and all over last night. We can see 3 cities' fireworks from our deck, so I'm becoming the neighborhood, and family, place to be to watch the sparklers.
Cheers, Rusty
