Good luck on your 5K ... that's something I would like to do if  I could ever walk that far on my bad knees and bad back.

Annette, I don't care who gets us started as long as it gets done! I tried to log on at home last night, but our server must have been down. Another hectic day here.  TGILW (Thank God it's a long weekend!)  The business manager, his assistant and I are IT today!  There are 3 out.  We'll be handling all the docs, the phones, sorting mail, etc.  Come on 3:30 (although I almost never leave on time anymore)! Yesterday I put a call in for the GYN, another flare up of the dreaded YI - come on girls, you know the itching/burning.  Just had this less than two weeks ago.  Anyway, GYN was not in, I thought the nurse could call something in to the pharmacy.  Waited until almost 4 and called again.  "We put your message on the doctor's desk.  Maybe you could try something OTC."  So, in a few minutes I will call again and again and again until I get what I need.  There's no way in H3LL I can leave work today to go to the her office.  So, if she needs to see me before prescribing something, I'll be in agony until Monday. Going to one of my sisters's houses tomorrow for bbq.  I made baked beans and two pies last night.  The pies are something I can have!!!  Cool and Easy, made with sf strawberry jello, free cool whip, and lf graham cracker crust, very light and easy.  Diabetic BIL will be able to enjoy too! Have a happy and safe 4th. Debbie

Debbie, I have gone through those cycles of going nuts with itching. As long as I remember to include yogurt in my diet on a regular basis, it helps.  Have you considered one of the OTC products? They do work well and are probably the same stuff your MD will prescribe. Probably TMI, but if they keep coming back, dear old hubby may need some medication too. Men can harbor the stuff with absolutely NO symptoms, they just pass it along to us.

Annette, never TMI, you know that - we share everything!  Hubby and I have been playing like a priest and a nun lately LOL.  All his OT has not allowed for much togetherness.  *How's that for TMI*  We had an episode a couple of years ago when he needed to be treated too.  Right now he's calling me Typhoid Mary.  The doc's office called me with instructions to use Monistat dual pack and come in Monday.  Should be a looooong weekend, especially since George will not be working Sat.  I'm going to up the yogurt and take acidophilus too.  I NEED to get rid of this before vacation on the 12th.

Good Morning Annette and Everyone........... I am always happy to see you in the morning. Whoever is up starts the thread and if it is you that is great!! We love you!! Margo.........I agree....I hope others check in more then once a day I know I check quite often....at least once again before I go to bed. I don't like to miss anything....it could be important. Kathi....21 pounds....that is great!! You are doing very well. The exhaustion will get better. It takes awhile for all those chemicals to get out of our bodies from the surgery. My cleaning fairy is here and I am just chilling out today. I am always so happy to see her. Later this evening the 4th of July celebrations begin....wooohooooo...party and friends!! Tomorrow will be a full day from the morning parade to the bands and music and dancing until time for the fireworks. Then more music and dancing!! I need to run over to Walmart and pick up a few things when Julie leaves. I am low on vitamins and protein bars. Can't run out of those!! Have a great 4th and keep safe! Love , hugs, and prayers to all.....connie d

Pig OINK -  I know you were teasing Margo. My grandfather was a pig farmer. Mom always said that she got "the pick of the litter" My days start early, therefore end early too. I usually read each post but don't always have time to post to each person. My typing is so slow and I would end up sitting at the computer for hours.  Reading used to be a passion but lately books put me to sleep within minutes. In the past I couldn't sleep if a book was not finished. Don't know what happened to make that change. I drove the 14 miles to get my client and nobody was at the group home. I called my boss and she didn't know of any changes, so I sat and waited. Finally a staff person returned. Late last night the client's family decided to take her for a few days and nobody thought to call me. I will get paid for 30 minutes but the 28 mile trip will not be reimbursed - RAT$!! that's a lot of ga$. This day feels all messed up now.

Aloha OFF family!

Annette....I'm always glad to see you. Unfortunately I'm always late in posting compared to everyone else because of where I live. At 6:00 a.m. when I'm usually sitting down at the computer for my daily
"OFF FIX" it's already noon on the east coast. Usually there are 10 to 15 posts so it's yummy for me, but some days I figure I'm so far down the list that no one pays attention so I just don't post. Margo..that was a great question......I hadn't thought about it before you posed that. I think sometimes we just need to share and it doesn't matter if many read it, it's more for us, but there are times when we NEED to feel the love....you know, have someone respond.

Today is my 3rd day working in the office of IMUA (means, "moving forward" in Hawaiian)....and I'm admiring those of you who work regularly for your stamina. I think being a therapist for so many years, and making my own hours really spoiled me, and I don't like being at a desk where I can't leave unless I get coverage, etc. I am glad that this is only temporary, but the people are great, and it is filling my gas tank....and these days, that's BIG!

No big plans for the holiday except to have dinner with friends and probably watch fireworks from our lanais. There are always people who do fireworks down on the beach, and if you go to Lahaina you can see the BIG fireworks from a barge out in the ocean...spectacular.

'Nuff for now......but always happy to see all of you. I feel happy when I read that you are happy, sad when someone is sad, and close like family because we share so many of life's struggles, successes, etc. You all make my life RICHER!! Mahalo!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Hi Annette and all: No, no one' s is hogging anything; You just get up earlier than anyone; you're a morning glory; I'm a night owl. I got a little shock this afternoon ... realized at 1:59 p.m. I had to be at work at 2 ... quickly made a wrap, threw my drinks in my cooler and got dressed and hopped in the car, off to work. We have early deadlines tonight for a morning holiday paper. I thought we had to be in at 2 p.m. tomorrow ... nope, it's today. I thought about it as I was finishing my lunch and called my boss. After I called him, he called my night coworker, and she thought the same thing. So we were both a little late. We had big storms yesterday afternoon and night; I was at the chiropractor's office when the worst one hit and had to sit there and wait out the storm before I could go to work. Couldn't even see across the road. Got to work a little late. It rained hard on and off all night. Some power outages some places, downed wires across the interstate in a town near us (not where I live), trees down, etc., lots of damage, fires. I didn't have any problems ... had power when I got home. Felt very fortunate in that way.  This morning, it was run around to the grocery stores and Walgreens and PetsMart and gas up the car; I was about to total up the damages in my checkbook when I realized I should get to work; guess I'll have to do that later. Margo, I always check in during the night, but then again, I'm usually one of the last ones to post because I'm a night owl and you guys are always up long before I am.  Well, I should get going, we got early deadlines tonight and I need to get to work. I'll check in later after my work is done. Have a good holiday ... I'll be working, making triple time (have to work Saturday night too for overtime ... that will be a good paycheck.)

Annette, the way I look at it.......I got to start it one time and I was happy. I am just glad that I am snoring away when it is started because that means that I am getting my much needed beauty sleep. And trust me I would have had to start sleeping non stop at the age of about 5! I still don't guarentee that it would do what it's name said. haha  Technically speaking you are a girl so you can't be a hog~you would be a piggy and I don't think that fits you either. So post away since someone has to start it!  Love and big hugs to you, sweetie.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
