We always miss you when you aren't here, Linda. You are such a important part of our OFF family. I am glad that you got to rest later this morning. Make sure you take care of yourself today.  I took some ground round out and so today I am making a meat loaf, and I am adding some cheese to it, and some italian meatballs in suace and cheese. The last time I made the meat balls Bill fell in love. I have 2 meetings at the church tomorrow so I am covered with dinner for tomorrow. All I am going to have to do is the veggies and that is nothing. I am not making so much pasta for Bill anymore and he doesn't seem to miss it and if it is there I really want to eat it. I am a carb addict for sure. If it isn't here I don't want it. With the left overs I am covered for Bill's lunch and for some other meals.  B: High Protein Special K w/ milk L: scrambled egg with cheese D: meat loaf or meat balls in sauce with cheese and veggies (I am not sure which one I am going to want!) S: sf pudding I am going now. I want to do some stuff around here. I have to read that blasted book for my church committee and I am don't want to. It is soooo boring! It isn't fair. They should have changed the evaluation after I am off the committee let alone chairing it! I am sending love and BIG hugs to you. I am saying my special prayers for you, dear Linda. Have a wonderful day and enjoy yourself.

Linda, My band is still really tight - don't know what's going on with it.  If it goes on like this I'm going to have to call my surgeon. So, depending on the vagaries of my band, today's eating plan is: B:  protein shake made w/ 1 cup skim milk, 1/2 banana, and 1 scoop peanut butter chocolate protein powder S:  1 cup watermelon chunks L:  2 oz shrimp & avocado seviche, 1/4 c. marinated zucchini S:  1/2 c. LF cottage cheese w/ blueberries D:  4 oz cauliflower pizza, 1 cup spinach salad w/ FF raspberry vinaigrette S:  1 Skinny Cow Dipper Jean

Jean! Wow!! You are almost at goal, will you be asking for another unfill?? You deserve to be comfortable, my 2nd daughter (step), has the band, she is doing ok, but has puked a few times.. Let me know how it goes, I eat small meals..even with that, sometimes the meat is too heavy, or I eat too fast, and Fangster will kick my booty!! Take care, babes. Hugs!

Linda, I don't know.  This close to goal, I hate the idea of an unfill, but I can't live on liquids indefinitely and a too-tight band is asking for problems (slippage or erosion). I couldn't eat breakfast this morning, but I was able to eat lunch.  We'll see how it goes at dinnertime... Whether it's the pouch or the band, it definitely lets us know who's in charge, huh? Jean

Hi All!!! Just got back from my 3rd nut visit..I cornered her about an approx surgery month....she said she knows I'll be approved but they have a waiting list for surgery!!! She said the earliest I could get in is the end of this year.  I'm done with my "hoop jumping" in Sept so they'll send it to my insur then and there is a slight possibility I could get in when someone cancels Nov or Dec. I want this thing done asap. She didn't weigh me today, we just talked about things that cause me to eat other than hunger. I'm glad that I'm going to be well prepared for this surgery but I want the actual surgery over and done with. I've told her about all the great pointers I've picked up on this website and how much support I get here from all of you. Have no idea what's on the menu today....just ate some chicken for B.  Have a Great Day Everyone!!! Alice

Alice, the wait sucks. Your being here is good though, and you have time to let the entire lifestyle be absorbed, for this is a life change. When my daughter and I go to lunch today, we will order one meal and I will bring my own paper plate, we have both had the surgery! The date is a long way off...this is the only and best doctor for you? Have you thought of doctor shopping, you can get a copy of all your records and tests. Have you gone to your state forum and asked about doctors who have performed the surgery. Hey, if nothing else, you will have more feedback. Also, have you toured the hospital, talked to some of the patients? Do they have a support group there? Kudos to your NUT for addressing the eating disorder.  May time past swiftly for you!

Hi Linda, My insurance only covers this hospital in LaCrosse and the Dr I got was not my first choice but the other one is "booked". I could check out Mayo, it's an hour away but then I'd be starting the process all over again. I also have a problem with a ride from the hospital to home. I'm going to ask a co-worker to bring me home or a cab. My supportive son will be in graduate school in Indiana, 10hrs away. My daughter nearby has her hands full with 2 small children and a husband hooked on "crack". My other daughter is in VA with her family just starting a new job. I'm going to have to pray about this...Thanks Linda for the support. Alice
