*~*~*~*~*~* No one has posted yet? WOW.... I didn't think I'd ever make the first post.... I'm wide awake at 2:46 am..... would love to be snuggled in bed but here I sit. Today will be a day of no commitments so I plan to be in my sewing room..... yaeee..... I had a great bus trip to Portland from the Tacoma (WA) area. It was a tour style bus and soo comfy. I could get use to that type of travel. The tour and price was set before the gas hike so we were able to have a fairly cheap trip. Of course the stores knew we were coming and we were given discounts. When about 40 ladies drop an average of $50.00 per person, well yes, they do give discounts. LOL As you can imagine I will be having a sew sew day today. Hee hee... Have a fun and wonderful day today. Millie

good morning! i have to make a drive by cuz i got stuck in a very lengthy email to respond to someone about our bird for sale and now it is almost time to get dressed for work! i love to sew-haven't done any for years...hmmm..someday..... last nite i typed up the minutes from the may DAR mtg and sent them on to the regent (like President)...funny thing...my own Patriot application hasn't been accepted yet (it's in verification process) so i am not yet a member but i have already been asked to be the recording secretary for the group! after work, i have some errands to run and then hopefully can finish the planting in the front garden-if it doesn't rain! hugs and prayers to all.....

sorry! DAR is Daughters of the American Revolution--my Patriot application is the genealogical lineage of a relative who served in the Revolutionary War to myself-those who can show that they are related to Patriots can belong to DAR(for women only), SAR (sons for males ) or CAR ( a group for children ). the application is many many pages verifying who i am how my name changed(every marriage and divorce!) as well as proving my parentage/grandparents etc-every generation back...one submits the first appliaction( mine was over 100 pages of info) to become a member and then if there are any "supplementals" -additional ancestors--i have at least 7 more ancestors that i can claim  who are proven Patriots but i have to get the first one approved first! plus, since i was adopted, i have to prove that i really am who i say i am...and one can only become a member on their birth family-not on adopted family-so i had to prove my birth and adoption as well as i am learning wonderful things about my own family! my mother doesn't know 1/3 of what i am learning and she grew up in the family! so then my fun -and task-becomes introducing my mother-and my children and grands-to their history!

Thanks for getting us started Millie, Sewing frustrates me completely but I admire anyone who finds it relaxing.  My hubby is a big guy - 6'4" tall and strong. A few months ago he lifted me in his arms for the first time and I was thrilled. Yesterday he scooped me up to his waist with my legs around his waist - the way you carry a toddler. (this was clean fun or I wouldn't be sharing ) Even as a young child, nobody carried me that way because I was told "you are TOO HEAVY".  60 years later and I'm told I am light as a feather. I think I'll keep him. Annette

Good morning one and all, Today is the big push to get ready for our trip to San Diego. I'm almost completely packed, taking wayyyyyyy too many clothes, but hey, they're all cute and who knows what my mood will be on any given day? Gotta cover all my bases, right? Millie, your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun. Lucky you for getting the bus at a low price when you did. Bet the bus  company was less than thrilled though  LOL.  I used to sew a lot, but haven't for a long time. Maybe one of these days I get out the machine and do some things. Margo, what type of bird are you selling?  We lost our Grey Cheek last year and although I miss him terribly, I don't want another bird. I have enough to keep up with the four legged beasties we have now. Annette,  that Tom surely is a keeper. You're one lucky lady, but then, I think he's the luckiest yet! If I'm not around much I'll catch everyone up on the "big shindig" when I get home. Should be a hoot. Love ya!

Good Morning Millie and all, It is already 70 degrees here! It's only 5:30am. This year although I'm hot, I'm not miserable like usually! It is so nice not to be sweating like a pig and just normal! Annette, my Tom is also tall and big about 6'3" and I would NEVER let him pick me up before as I weighed as much as he does, but now he picks me up all the time and I let him. I feel very small next to him! He has always called me "sweetie" now he calls me "my little sweetie." Not too much new here. Just hot out, 98 yesterday. Did some scrapbooking but mostly just played with my scrapbooking stuff and took a couple of naps in my scrapbooking room. Can you tell I love to scrapbook? We have an air conditioner in there, so much cooler. It's on our third floor where it gets into the 100s so that one goes in first. Husband is going to put the downstairs one in hopefully this week. Well, off to the treadmill and then get ready for work. Tomorrow is my ultra sound for my gallbladder and Wed is the eye specialist for my crossed eyes! Boy, am I a prize! Cheryl

We never touch people so lightly we do not leave a trace.

Good morning Millie and my OFF friends, Millie, I am Sew Nuts LOL! I used to make my clothes and clothes for my daughter. I made all her dresses for dances, prom etc. She wanted me to make her wedding dress but I stopped short on that one, I knew I couldn't handle the pressure and if something didn't turn out perfect!!!  Last summer I had both my granddaughters( 4 & 6 ) sewing with me. With my help ( guiding their hands)  they each made 2 summer dresses for themselves. Right now with the master bedroom remodel I can;t even get into my sewing room, hopefully soon, sinc I am losing weight I want to make a couple summer dresses for me with a tie waist so I can wear them all summer long. I hope everyone has a great day. Paulette

Hi Mille and my OFF friends: It's very cool today but the sun is shining in West Michigan, which is always a plus. I love being able to sleep with the windows open now that the pollen is down. It was a great weekend as the White Sox swept the Cubs ... I enjoyed the games very much, although the Sox made it exciting at the end ... I could have done without all that excitement! I threw the cat brush in the ninth inning ... poor cats, they were scared! Oh well, all was well in the end. I didn't hit the cats, just the wall ... I get a little overly excited over my baseball. Didn't get as much done as I wanted to yesterday; wound up taking more than an hour nap in the afternoon. Guess I was tired. Today it's back to work. I need to get back to exercising too. I slacked off last week ... had a lot of appointments last week, but nothing this week, so no excuses.  Millie I took a sewing class in high school and made my uniform shirts and a couple of dresses ... one dress was very cute but when I washed it, it fell apart ... guess I didn't finish the seams properly. Then I lost interest in sewing. I did make a baby quilt/blanket for my niece when she was born; she's now in her 30s with two boys of her own ... one is 98 pounds and 4-8 (he's 8 years old but a big kid). I don't have the room or the machine or the inclination to continue. My sister-in-law, though, is a wonderful quilter. Me, I like my ceramics ... need to go back tomorrow. Haven't gone for awhile because of money/gas. I think I have both this week. Well, I need to go exercise. Time to get on that bike. Have a good day.
