Hi Debi, Hi Janet! My two cents here- I just wanted to tell you that if you wait long enough with head lice those suckers will FLY! I had a student in my class once that had THAT happen.... Boy, we watched her like a hawk after that! Julia

Tea tree oil shampoo really helps. I had lots of issues with an itchy scalp due to my diabetes.

Actually, I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.  Love it. I'm starting to wonder if it's that really nice expensive Eculyptis Spearmint Pillow Mist I've been using.  Can't remember if I started having this before I got it. Janet

Janet, when my head itched so bad it was driving me nuts I used the medicated shampoo. For the life of me I can't remember what the name is but I want to say T Gel medicated  shampoo but I am not sure. It stinks like tar but it does help with the itching. I never figured out what was making mine itch but it was making me nuts~or should I say more nuts! I used it for a while and then I have never had it again. Oh! I have to knock on wood.

Well, Janet, I'm glad it wasn't lice, but I have some problems with itchy scalp and little red sores ... I went to the dermatologist for it. The closest thing she could figure out that I had was foliculitis, and she gave me some prescription medication that I put on my scalp at night before I went to bed, and then washed off when I shampooed. When it was really bad, I had a prescription shampoo too (and that led to the quarter-sized, one-inch high seborrheic cyst that had to be popped in the dermatologist's office in 2005. Then I had no more problems until last summer, when they reappeared again, and I had to get the stuff for the scalp and now some $50 antibiotic to keep them from reappearing and getting to that point again. You might want to visit a dermatologist if the symptoms continue. I still don't know why I get this, but my dermatologist explained that it seems I have some hair follicles that bunch together in twos or threes instead of coming up in one root and that irritates my scalp. Go figure ... Oh, and Sea Breeze seems to help my itching sometimes.
