Aloha and good Sunday morning OFF family!

Joan, what a delightful surprise to have you start the thread today! I'm so sorry about the pain and no diagnosis. I hope you are at least taking some pain meds that kill the worst of the pain....no fun living with pain.

It is such wonderful news that you are going to be with your family in Denver. God does work in mysterious ways, for sure, and I've come to trust that HIS plan is much better than those I try to make for myself. If I'd only get out of my own way more often! Ha!

It is 7:00 a.m. on Maui and I'm doing laundry and looking at much sunshine on my lanai which is calling my name. I will soon get on my swimsuit and do an hour out there soaking up rays and vitamin D!

Yesterday I had my babies at the hospital to test......9 of them! It was a good morning, and they all tested easily with none taking more than about 15 minutes. Sometimes I'll get a baby who is fussy or has fluids in his/her ears and it takes a LONG time to get them to pass the hearing test. Usually those are C-section babies, but eventually they do pass...just takes longer.

Tomorrow I fly over to Honolulu to see my surgeon. It will be a long day of lines, and waiting for a probably 10 minute session with him...but I always make my appointments because I'm SO GRATEFUL for this surgery and for all that it has done for me, and want to give him the credit he deserves. Next Monday I go back over to Honolulu to see plastic surgeon....THAT will be an interesting meeting. I do NOT know if I'm even eligible but I want to find out.

Time to read the Sunday paper and finish up my laundry, make the bed, etc. It's a peaceful, quiet, luxuriously serene day...and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. Next week gets busy again.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Hello to each of you *****sponded..and thanks for the caring support you all show...Carla I would love to see you in Denver for sure....Karen, I got my first pain meds this past week, but I cannot take them...they made me very sick to my stomach and very dizzy and headache like you cannot believe even after sleeping all night I woke up with sick tummy and dizziness.  So I am just taking tylenol and praying for mercy. Have a blessed Sunday and catch you all the next time.

It is His love and grace that saved and sustains me.
In Christ's love,

Joan, I am not in Denver anymore. My husband is there but only till tomorrow I think. I wont be in Denver till November and that is only for about 4 days. It all depends on how much the flights are. It is hot here in Florida today and looks like it is going to pour sometime today. Well off to Verizon to add my cousin to our family plan I think Carla

Yes, I knew that I was just saying it would be nice.  Because when I think of Denver I also think of you having lived there. My DD has that same plan and asked me to get it also but my family is on another one and we have so many of us that it really helps with us being to talk for free.  (Sisters talk a lot)

It is His love and grace that saved and sustains me.

Hi there Joan and all my OFF sisters (and the occasional brother), Joan, it's so nice to see you again. Hope you get the situation with your arm figured out soon. Just not knowing what's going on is nearly as bad as enduring the pain. Glad to see Karen and Judy back too.  Doesn't seem right when part of the family is missing! We're in "get ready for vacation" mode around here. Getting the house cleaned and linens changed so it will be nice when we come home. Gary took the dogs to the vet yesterday for their annual check-ups and shots. Left $331 lighter in the wallet.  I was stressing out about it when I remembered that my SIL, who owes us money, sent us some of her old gold to sell and put towards her balance. Gary took it to a friend who works in a pawn shop and they gave him $413!!!!  So, dogs are paid for, with enough left over to pay for their boarding while we're gone!  Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekends. I'll be here tomorrow, then off to San Diego!!!   Love ya

Susan

well; i should probly take a minute to chit chat....brenda, thank you for missing me...sometimes i feel like i have nothing of importance to say so i kinda skipped the last few days... this morning i got out and did yardwork too- trimmed around the rosa rugosa we planted along the fenceline in back-all 30 plants are still alive-yippee!!!!there was some doubt about 4 of them. i think they need more sun where they are but if we trim the overhanging trees we lose some of the privacy-they are starting to work on the rails to trails behind us so we want our privacy!!! there are big caterpillars back there and men doing heavy noisy work..... i also took 5 wheelbarrows full of big stone(rock?) to edge the front garden- after each two i had to come in and rest-whew---cardio at it's best up the hill with the wheelbarrow!!!! our (split rail style) fence is 16 ft along the front and 16 feet down a side but i only edged the front so it makes a nicer edge to weedwhack..the side has only a foot or so of grass then the driveway-i wnat to get creeping juniper bushes for along there..also helps clean up around the basement slider door which had become a catch all....i had then planned to go out and plant some flowers in the beds there but we had 3 diff rainstorms--heavy rain but short lived..and muddy now.it is cooler today too which is nice for yardwork! i think in a few i should go take my sunday nite shower-it takes my hair a long time to dry naturally.......need to do the toenails -new polish and a few other essentials....sorry-tmi! yesterday morning was plasma donation and it went well- and quickly-it occured to me that i pass two cemeteries on the trip so i think i will fulfill some photo requests thru findagrave for those cemeteries this week. we thought we had our one bird, doc, sold again- then friday morning the gal said she couldn't do the number crunching-gave a bunch of excuses-said she wouldn't be coming saturday to see him. so- we did some shopping in the afternoon and while we were gone she dropped by unexpectedly--now she lives in canton by terrib and she passed thru on her way back from visitng a friend in michigan-- -we are not in the direct flight plan-she had to get off the turnpike and drive 9 miles-anyhow- we missed her-dang it.... so i need to run his ad again - and it is so frustrating-he needs a better home and no one has that kind of money right now.michael is also talking about selling his ruby...i hate to see that but he feels it might be better for her...i have mixed feelings.she's a special girl and senses all of his depression and angers.she bites her feathers like a person bites their nails but she does it to excess....so she is not physically as beautiful as she could be-she adores him and i am afraid that her going to a new home would devastate her. we are trying to get little odd jobs done around here and need to do serious decluttering and depersonalizing to put the house back on the market. i need to find someone with a mitre box to use my old fashioned mitre saw-i need to make about 8 cuts at 45 * angles and cannot afford to rent a saw! i keep asking on freecycle-nobody has one.poo! well- enuff-hugs and prayers to all.....
