What's New FRIDAY?

Annette: Diva is the only one to greet people. She thinks everyone should look at her ... that's why she was called Diva by my cat sitter, her former mother. She is definitely a diva. Scooter hides, he is a scaredy cat; Nettie waits to see who it is and then she comes out ... if it's a voice she recognizes, she comes out for adoration, otherwise, she's under the bed with Scooter.  I, too, am perturbed with my ortho docs. This is the second one, and he's supposed to be one of the best in Grand Rapids (according to my friend, Mary Kay, who was referred to him by the former king of ortho docs before he retired). I am giving him a month to see if the Celebrex will actually work, but tonight my knee is hurting so much I actually put my neoprene sleeve back on before I went to work ... and that thing is heavy and hot in the summer ... it was great in the winter, but I was balking at wearing it again during the summer. But I was in such pain this afternoon at home I thought maybe this would help ... well, guess what, it hasn't. I'm still in pain. I'm sitting at work and can't get comfortable at all. If by the end of this month I'm still in pain, they are going to do something, or I'm calling the ortho doc in Ann Arbor that does the tendon needling procedure to see if he can help me. I had the knee replaced to feel better and I am in as much pain if not more pain as I was before I had the knee replaced. I don't care if the bone scan and the X-rays say the knee looks fine ... I am in pain, and they need to take that seriously. Thanks for caring, Annete, I know I whine a lot here and I'm sure a lot of people are sick of it.

Eileen, I figured Diva was Queen, just by her name. Same with Scooter. My brother has had both shoulders replaced. One turned out well, the other is painful and he has limited use of his arm. After more than a year of tests and complaints to his doctor, he went to a different specialist. Lo and behold, there is a problem- a tendon was not correctly reattached. He is not a complainer and can endure a great deal of pain, but this has set him back on his heels. It has taken over one year for him to find a doctor willing to examine and diagnose the problem. He is waiting for insurance paperwork to schedule another surgery. That was the reason I suggested you find another ortho. You complain all you wish. We are here to listen and offer comfort. We care about you. Annette

Good afternoon to all my OFF family.  I am back and at home now. It feels so good to be home.  I am sitting here watching my one and only soap opera. I watch "Day's Of Our Lives". My mom started me on that one so many years ago that I can't even remember when. I sometimes go weeks withou****ching it but it is so strange~in those soap operas time goes so fast and in reality time goes so slow. In a matter of a year children grow up and become ready to go to school and yet when you miss some they are always easy to catch up on. haha I have soome errands to run today. I didn't get them done yesterday as planned and so I thought I would just do them today. The errands are going to get done today. I refuse to have to do them again on Monday. Heck, by then I will have some more things to do. You know that old adage~there is no rest for the weary. Now, which is it~weary or wicked? I have heard it both ways and have always wondered which one was right.  I guess I had better get going. I have a couple of things to do here before I get my butt going. I hope that everyone has a great day~or what is left of it. I am sending hugs and love to all and prayers for everyone. special ones are going up for those who need them.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi, OFFs, I haven't been on here too much the last couple of days.  Work is really cracking down on internet use, and my Greyhound tore the nail off his left front paw, left side (like your "baby toe". on Wednesday night, so the last 2 days have been crazy.  He evidently got it caught on something, I'm not sure as I was in the other room, I came out to see what the noise was that sounded like something falling off the counter, saw nothing, then looking for Savage saw blood spots ALL OVER the house.  I first thought he stepped on something sharp and sliced his foot, but upon further examination saw it was the nail with the nerves and blood vessels left behind.  Vet says his toenail will grow back.  Greyhounds are so stoic.  Not even a whimper from him unless you touched his hurt spot.  anyway, he's sportin' a cool purple sock. and on medication.  I gotta get the DH to haul out the Rug Doctor like he keeps promising. Have a good weekend everyone, looks to be busy for us.  Or not, depending if I crash and refuse to leave the house. mary
