Having Tom home on a Monday threw my entire day off - in a good way.  Responding to posts never happened. Hugs, prayers and love to all. Sorry I missed you yesterday. I went to see my PCP about the bone scan results. He wants me to take Fosomax. I read about the side effects - this stuff can be nasty but I'll try and see what happens. He was most concerned with my liver functions and ordered another set of labs. My surgeon had said we could wait until October but the PCP doesn't feel waiting is a good idea. He said if the results haven't drastically improved, he wants me to see a liver specialist ASAP.  We are cautious going in and out the sliding doors but Becky  Cat 11 made an escape. With a war scream and faster than light, she ran outside. The furbrat headed straight under our wisteria jungle. It's about 20 feet wide and thick. Tom had one heck of a time catching her. She yelled and screamed through out the entire chase. Darned cat! Have a great day and do something fun. Annette

Hey Sis, Hope everything turns out ok, I'm praying for you to be well, as it seems every time you get through one thing there is another one to deal with. Hugs, Laureen

Hi Annette and all: Sorry the medical issues keep haunting you Annette. Hope you get those straightened out soon. I spent the morning at an informal support group meeting with some West Michigan folk at the local mall. It was just four of us ... most of them fairly early out, and none of them RNY ... two duodenal switch and the other gastric sleeve. Very interesting learning what they go through vs. what I had to learn nutritionally. The one woman was very well-versed in the nutrition  for DS ... but she had to learn this all on her own because she didn't learn it from our dieticians, unfortunately, who are only prepared for RNY patients even though they are counseling other surgical patients. That's too bad. The gastric sleeve patient is just a few weeks out and having a little difficulty getting all her meals and fluids in. She has three little ones, and had all the kids with her ... a Down syndrome boy and twin girls. Oh my, what a handful! Needless to say, they are all younger than me too. But very nice and it was fun and interesting meeting and talking. I had met the other two ladies the last time, but the other woman was new; she had a lot of interesting information to share.  Tomorrow I have to go for a gall bladder scan; have been having some stomach distress the past few months and mentioned this to my PCP, so he wants to look at that. He thinks it's probably my IBS, but just to be on the safe side ... Plus, the lab screwed up my B-1 test, so I have to have more blood drawn ... sigh ... luckily, it's in the same place, so I won't waste gas. Well, I'm hungry and the Waikiki meatballs, day 3, are calling me. I think this will be the last day ... then they go in the freezer. Hope everyone has a good day. Enjoy the recipe!

Hi Annette et al .... .... it is 1:45 am and I'm wide awake.. shhheeeessshhh Later this morning I'm going to go get my 2 1/2 yr old grandson for the day. We will head to the park, and the train station (watch the trains), and play with whatever we find in the house to play with. This little guy has come into the family at just the right time. What a joy he is. * * * * * * * yesterday was my 3 month check up with my PCP... he was thrilled with my stats. Last week I saw the surgeon and NUT. The nut said I was low on protein and the surgeon said my tri-glycerides were too high ......... well, the new labs were not posted on my chart (computerized) and they were going off the old labs. My PCP said everything was in the normal range. He had not seen my labs look so good. I was sooo happy with my visit and it feels wonderful to know I am so much healthier.... Ain't life grand.... Good Morning Annette and all!   What a pretty morning it is!  I am at home until 9:30 and then going to work from 10-6:30 today inorder to meet with some patient charting users that want changes to their charting.  Based on the last meeting that lasted well over 2 hours I decided to go in later and stay later to accomodate them and their unique needs.  (Every are is unique you know.....)  LOL!  Anyway, been a few busy weeks for me.  Not only am fostering Sgt Pepper but also had a PUPPY about 4 months old, of course NOT housebroken.  Cute as can be!  He got adopted this weekend and I spent last night scrubbing floors.  hallway, living room, kitchen, dining, and family rooms on hands and knees.  Oh yeah, I paid for it, but at least I can walk in my bare feet again!  LOL   Had a "date" Sunday with a man that a PPI friend knows from her "real job".  We met once before and Sunday went to see Indiana Jones new movie (very good) and then had a sandwich at Bob Evans.  He is very nice but very quiet.  I also got the last bedroom painted last week, just have to put another coat on the trim, scrub the floor and start to move stuff back in there.  I have a few ideas for it also, so we'll see what happens.  I have a toilet that is not working (leaking from tank)  I can't find the leak so think I am going to replace it and get a pedastel sink for in that bath room too.  I may even try my hand at ceramic tile....we'll see.  It is a very small bathroom and would be the good size to try it out.  So that's what is new for me.  Not a whole lot!  hope everyone has a great day!

Hi all, Well, I have an appointment with the attorney I had met with a few months ago re: the old job. Will find out if I will go further with it today. I am ready to go for it now so hope he is. Found out that if I have trouble finding someone to represent me it isn't that I don't have a good case it is that in this town there is a huge possibility of many of the attorneys having conflict of interest in dealing with this particular non-profit so.... All is well here, Beth called me yesterday during her free hour and sounds so excited and happy! Thank God! She has her first group of campers this week, 3rd and 4th graders in her own cabin and is on top of the world. It is nice to hear her so happy! Then my son called last Friday and he was in a very good mood too. It is unusual to have BOTH my kids happy at the same time! Tom was off at his class last night and instead of doing something fun like scrapbooking or shopping all I did was lay on my bed and sleep till he got home then went to bed...I did sleep then till 5:15am which is way better than 3:30am.... Today looks like another beautiful day and I have a massage after work! Wish I could figure out a way to join you all at the GTG. I might go online for fun and just price a ticket for the heck of it. Have a good day all... Cheryl
